Boonie's Southern Soul6465 201 Street, Langley
Sorry Boonie's ..... you just don't cut it :(
Submitted Sunday, October 3, 2010 - 2:47pm [Dine in]

Mediocre is probably the best way to describe our dinner. Nothing we ordered would ever be considered either outstanding or even southern or soul ....... it was just like cafeteria food served with BBQ sauce.

David Boxcar Gates ........ your whole schtick is sort of homeade ...... made out of bicycle and lampshade parts and not very southern either - just sort of tinny and over the top loud for the 'everything hard surface' room you're playing in.

In all fairness the young lady waiting on us did very well for what she had to work with.

Don't mean to be harsh but many improvements to both the menu and surroundings will have to be made to make *Boonie's* a destination dining-out treat.

Adrian's at the Airport5385 216 St., Langley
Birthday Dinner Disappointment
Submitted Sunday, September 5, 2010 - 7:10pm [Dine in]

I took my Son to Adrian's at the Airport for his 46th birthday ........ when we got to the restaurant I asked if they did anything special for birthdays and was told *yes* so I indicated it was my Son's birthday and we'd appreciate whatever they did for a celebrant.

We both enjoy a good Prime Rib and were very much looking forward to what we'd been told was *outstanding Prime Rib at Adrian's* We were sorely disappointed ..... the meat was just warm, it was grissley, there was no au jus ...... the rest of the meal pretty much matched the prime rib.

When we were finished and the server asked us if we wished desert I said yes we'd have whatever the gratis item was that they gave to a person celebrating a birthday - she looked shocked and said "we don't do anything special" but you can order off the menu - I told her that the greeter who was standing at the cash, when we came in, said they did, in fact, give the birthday person a special desert - she question who it was and I told her that I was sorry but I didn't get their name but it was a gentleman. Off she went and eventually returned with a nice piece of a chocolate desert of some sort, put it down in front of my Son and said "Happy Birthday but this isn't our usual practice" - turned on her heel and left.

Needless to say I was not only shocked at the attitude but very disappointed.

And ........ yes, I have to agree with other posters ......... Adrian's you certainly do need a facelift as you're look'n pretty old and tired.

Coza! Tuscan Grill20065 Langley Bypass, Langley
2 visits = twice a winner!
Submitted Monday, July 21, 2008 - 1:29am [Dine in]

Coza is a *must try* ...... two evening meals; the first when Coza initially opened and the second on New Years Day '08 ....... both proved to be solid winners. 4 in party on first visit; 3 in party on second visit. Everyone ordered something different on each occasion and all meals were served freshly cooked, piping hot and promptly. Staff are efficient and friendly. Accoustics leave a little to be desired when restaurant is busy but, as the evening wears on and patrons begin the leave the noise level is considerably less.

We will definitely be visiting again.

Not a winner 2nd time around
Submitted Friday, August 10, 2007 - 5:51pm [Dine in]

Our second visit to this establishment will be our last. The first time we were there, in December 2006 - the food was outstanding, the service good and the place was clean.

However, the tides have turned. This restaurant has apparently been taken over by a new owner, within the last month. The food was only a 2, maybe 3, on a scale of 1 - 10, was certainly nothing like we had the first time - both times - same order - Halibut and chips, Cod and chips and Prawns and chips. The Cod, for some reason or other, was actually *tough*. The small portion of coleslaw was tasty. The chips were warm at best. The kitchen must learn to portion out their tartar sauce fresh for each order - ours had a film over the top, indicating it had been sitting out for some time - unrefrigerated !

The coffee was either left over from lunch or they need to find a better product ..... it tasted stale.

The eating area itself was clean, the washrooms were clean but the kitchen was VERY DIRTY and definitely should be on the list of restaurant kitchens to be visited by the Health Department !

Service was good and attentive.

Meal for 3 adults with NO liquor - $42.00

Sorry Jakes but some vast improvements MUST be made before I'll visit again.

Just another burger place
Submitted Tuesday, July 17, 2007 - 7:47pm [Dine in]

Lunch at Fatburger was okay but not outstanding.

The burgers and fries were tasty but I don't think warrant a return visit.

I found it to be rather pricey for the quality and quantity.

No Senior's discount but they do have a punch card - so many purchases and you earn a burger free.

Staff were friendly and the time from ordering food to delivery to table was reasonable.

Restaurant was clean as were the washrooms.

Good but could have been better
Submitted Tuesday, July 17, 2007 - 7:36pm [Dine in]

Dinner out on Saturday night was a special occasion, a birthday. Husband and I shared a full rack of baby back ribs - they were a little on the tough side for being baby backs - not really *melt in your mouth* quality which they really should have been. Son ordered half chicken and ribs - his chicken was very moist, tender and tasty but he felt the same, as we did, about his ribs - a little on the tough side. The side of beans could be a little more creative instead of *out of the can Ranch Beans*, side of fries were just plain, run of the mill fries, nothing special. The extra Caesar Salad ordered was good but the dressing a little over the top in garlic which tended to be all you tasted but the salad itself was fresh and crisp.

The birthday desert ordered was the deep fried cheese cake wrapped in a tortilla ..... concept is great but the restaurant really should deep fry these in either fresh oil or a fryer dedicated to just this desert as it tasted of french fries and whatever else had been fried in the oil previously, which, of course really took away from what could have been a spectacular desert.

Service was very good and attentive. Restaurant was clean, including the washrooms.

I'll go back to this restaurant as I don't think its fair to judge and either pass or fail an eating establishment on just one visit.

Total bill with NO liquor ..... $72.00 for three adults.
