Our second visit to this establishment will be our last. The first time we were there, in December 2006 - the food was outstanding, the service good and the place was clean.
However, the tides have turned. This restaurant has apparently been taken over by a new owner, within the last month. The food was only a 2, maybe 3, on a scale of 1 - 10, was certainly nothing like we had the first time - both times - same order - Halibut and chips, Cod and chips and Prawns and chips. The Cod, for some reason or other, was actually *tough*. The small portion of coleslaw was tasty. The chips were warm at best. The kitchen must learn to portion out their tartar sauce fresh for each order - ours had a film over the top, indicating it had been sitting out for some time - unrefrigerated !
The coffee was either left over from lunch or they need to find a better product ..... it tasted stale.
The eating area itself was clean, the washrooms were clean but the kitchen was VERY DIRTY and definitely should be on the list of restaurant kitchens to be visited by the Health Department !
Service was good and attentive.
Meal for 3 adults with NO liquor - $42.00
Sorry Charthouse but some vast improvements MUST be made before I'll visit again.
