Bring Back The Nerds!
Submitted Wednesday, September 9, 2009 - 5:56pm [Dine in]

I started going to this location once I found out they had Nerds as a topping option. My wife had a craving and sent me all the way from our house to pick her up a Nerd ice cream cone and once I got there (25 min drive) I found out that they discontinued the Nerds and that they were only testing them out, but found they might be too expensive. NO!!! What was I to tell my hormonal pregnant wife who had a Nerd ice cream craving? (I suggested making our own, but it just doesn't taste the same, the ratio is off, and the ice cream isn't as good.)

Bring back Nerds as a topping option, and I will return for some ice cream. Until then, I'm forced to freeze them out.

Please bring Nerds back! PLEASE! And Please hurry because as the pregnancy gets closer to term, the Nerd cravings increase!

Hadi's Restaurant7621 Vantage Way, #30, Delta
Great food, excellent service
Submitted Wednesday, September 9, 2009 - 5:47pm [Dine in]

I simply adore the food at Hadi's!
The service is great, they are usually so busy at lunch time, but they always try to make the effort to be very friendly.
The restaurant is quite large, and is dated, but I'm not going there for the decor, I'm far to busy stuffing my face with the scrumptious food. Every week day at lunch time there are home cooked specials. The Italian omelet is legendary, the salami and pepperoni hot sub with fried onions calls to me in the night. I find myself craving the greek-spiced chicken breast in pita.
Oftentimes, you can come by to grab some food and it is lined up out the door with truckers coming in for their lunch specials (they can be chicken cordon blue, pot roast dinner with potatoes and vegetables, ribs, or even borscht.
If you are driving past the Tilbury Industrial Park or near 76th and River road, stop in and see what the specials are!
You won't be disappointed!

Bombay Bite5568 206 Street, Langley
Best Indian food around.
Submitted Wednesday, September 9, 2009 - 5:09pm [Dine in]

This is my favorite place to get Indian food.
Bombay Bite has the best Indian food I've ever had. The butter chicken is fantastic. Their naan bread is so delicious. They have so many different options and the hardest part is trying to make a decision on what to order.

The service is great, they've even taken my family into the kitchen to show them how they make the naan bread.
They have the daily lunch buffet and they have so many different options.
The interior decor is very pleasing to the eyes. They've got the big screen tv's on different sports shows so your husband has somewhere to look while you're going on and on about how great the food is. (which you will)
My only pet peeve is that you have to order the rice separately from the dinner dish you order. All in all, it's completely worth it for me, and it's one of my favorite treats!
Now that I've written my review, I think I'm going to have Bombay Bite for dinner!

Istanbul Donair4061 200th Street, #117, Langley
Terrible service- the worst I've ever had.
Submitted Wednesday, September 9, 2009 - 5:07pm [Dine in]

I enjoy eating the donair's at Istanbul Donair, however their complete lack of service outweighs the delight I get in eating one.
Last week there was an employee who continued a personal phone call even though I was waiting at the counter. I had to continue poking my head around the corner looking frustrated for two or three minutes before I heard her whisper that she had to go.

Another time, I was in with my whole family and a different employee was standing at the counter looking down, and soon after we walked in he moved around and started shaving the meat. He did not acknowledge us, we said hello when we came in, we then continued to talk at the counter for four or five minutes before we became irritated enough to outright ask the kid if he was going to help us or not. He just kept his head down and ignored us. His eyes would flit up to see if we were still there. After complaining loudly to each other that this guy was not going to serve us even though we stood at the counter waiting for him that we guessed he was just going to continue ignoring us, we left. There was no one else there that we could complain to. We came back in a few days to tell the manager/owner of our experience and he began arguing with us, saying that he didn't know who we were talking about and then he changed his story to say that the guy didn't work there anymore, and then that he had no idea what we were talking about.
What happened to humoring your customer, if your customer is happy they will keep coming back right? Not the theory with this guy. We walked past the front of the store a few weeks later, and the kid that ignored us was still there working. So not only is the manager rude and unhelpful, he's also a liar who doesn't care if he gets repeat business.
The only positive thing I can say is that after the employee finally got off the phone she washed her hands before touching my food.

I wish they had the option to rate their service a zero, because that is far more appropriate than a 1.
Three strikes and they are out.

Go-Go Sushi4855 Delta Street, Delta
Best sushi !
Submitted Wednesday, September 9, 2009 - 4:53pm [Dine in]

I go to Go-Go sushi about once a week at work because I just can not get enough of their sushi. It is my favorite restaurant for sushi, and I have to agree with the others that it is easier to get take out than eat in the restaurant. There is limited seating and it gets very crowded because it is so popular. Their yam roll is well priced and my favorite! I find their rolls well priced, a chicken teriyaki roll is $3.95 and a tempura yam roll is $2.99 (I've paid $5.95 and $4.95 respectively at other places)
Their dragon roll is quite tasty, it's an "investment" roll - 8 huge pieces stuffed to the brim - I recommend sharing it with your more adventurous friends.
I've driven 30 mins just to get Go-Go's sushi, so if you're local, it's worth the quick stop in!

Glenwood Pizza & Pasta2390 200 St, Langley
Best Pizza I've ever eaten!
Submitted Tuesday, June 30, 2009 - 2:48pm [Dine in]

Glenwood Pizza is the best pizza I have ever consumed.
They use fresh ingredients and they make their own dough every day. You will never have a bad food experience here. The lasagna is one of my favorites, there is so much cheese and it is so delicious.
I can't even pick my favorite pizza, there are the standard ones everyone knows about, but at Glenwood they get so experimental and they've recommended a feta and tomato pizza, which I honestly never would have tried, but since the recommendation, I've hardly ordered anything else.
I also have fallen in food-lust with their sub sandwiches. So much cheese! I really enjoy the pub sub which has pizza sauce, ground beef, mushrooms and plenty of cheese! I've never ordered anything that I didn't really enjoy eating.
They are so friendly and it is a family run operation with people who truly care that you enjoy your pizza. They go to such lengths to make sure there is plenty of sauce and cheese on each pizza, it really makes their pizza stand out above the rest. Their delivery people are always very polite and friendly, and they never mind that I'm slow with getting my change out.
Considering you can get a pizza that was the dough prepared a few days ago for $17.00 from any random pizza place and you can get a freshly prepared pizza from Glenwood for $13.00 just blows me away. Their pizza's are so well priced it makes it possible to have a pizza treat once a week.
I'm so thankful that I've come across Glenwood Pizza and I look forward to my once a week pizza date!

Venetis20511 Douglas Cres, Langley
Best food for your money!
Submitted Tuesday, June 30, 2009 - 2:23pm [Dine in]

Venetis has been a favorite restaurant of mine for a few years now.
There isn't a restaurant that can even come close in comparison in taste and cost without sacrificing quality. The menu has something for everyone, fish, seafood, beef, veal, chicken, salads and pastas. Their beef is AAA. It is melt in your mouth fantastic! You can't go wrong no matter which meat dish you chose. They have appetizer specials where you can get a $2 escargot, with your steak dinner that comes with the salad bar so your meal comes out at under $20.00. The meals come with a helping of vegetables and your choice of rice, fries (with no trans fats) or a baked potato. The salad bar is fantastic. There are so many different kinds of salads with jello and buns. I can't count how many times I've been full before my meal arrives simply because of the salad bar.
I have never had a bad experience at Venetis. Their staff is so friendly and it's a family run business which I admire and appreciate. Since I've had the pleasure of dining with Venetis for so many years I've been able to watch employees grow from clearing the tables to greeting and seating customers to waiting tables. It's been amazing to watch their development.

When you drive by the restaurant there is never any parking because it is always packed. It reminds me of the restaurants you see in mobster movies because there are no windows on the outside, (but there are a few sunlight's.) They've recently painted and the place looks great. They have a great fireplace in the center of the room that is lit in the winter and each table has the little oil burner candles on it.
All in all, it is a great family restaurant and the perfect place for a quiet first date. It is my favorite restaurant and I hope to continue going there with my growing family for a long, long time.
