I was stunned, first off, by the decor here. Absolutely the coolest looking place in the city. Modern Latin revolutionary theme in this 100 year old bank had my jaw drop right after we entered.
The service was impeccable, as I'd expect from Mike Mitton, a favourite of our from his days at Allegro. He works the floor like Vikram at Vijs and is the consumate host still. He walked us through the new menu, I understand it just got changed this week, and it was fantastic. We had the Spanish Paella, as classic and well executed as I've seen, spicy bbq green beans, wild salmon on pork confit tacos and finished with this wicked spicy hot chocolate, on the house!
The cocktail list is excellent, but I didn't get a chance to delve too deep. My understanding is there will be a bar opening there on the top floor in September. The room has been built and we got a tour. this will be a hot spot for sure when it opens.
I'm surprised by the earlier review, plus I thought I might be first here, but perhaps it was opening kinks that have since been worked out.
Will replace Chambar as my destination du jour. . .
