Stella-r
Submitted Sunday, May 24, 2009 - 3:16pm [Dine in]

Went out for an early dinner at 5:30pm with a friend. As soon as we walked into Stella's, someone came over to us to seat us. Shortly after that, our drink orders were taken and drinks arrived soon after.
We debated over the main dishes, which looked fantastic but finally decided on the tapas menu. Ginger infused edamame, 'Filet-delphia cheese steak', Beef taquitos, and trio of dips. All of these orders came out in good time and a good space apart from each other. I cannot say enough good things about the taste of the filet-delphia and the taquitos. The edamame was plentiful and the dips tasty but fairly standard fare for Vancouver pub/restaurants. If you are not quite hungry enough for a full dinner or you are with several friends, order from the tapas menu and you will be satisfied. I don't drink a lot of beer but the menu was impressive and varied enough that even I recognized quite a few beer names that I enjoy. My b/f showed up shortly after we finished eating and was thoroughly impressed with the beer menu and a main dish (pork tenderloin and beans). I am sure that there is a name for that dish that is much more impressive than I present it however it was still delicious.
Portion-wise, what we paid and what we got was good value. The food is tasty, creative and the presentation clean. I found the service to be quite outstanding. Just enough service however not intrusive but still friendly. It is a place that I feel like I would like to make a local haunt. I haven't been for brunch or dessert yet but looking at their menu, I will be back!

Three Lions Cafe exactly what it seems
Submitted Sunday, May 3, 2009 - 3:27pm [Dine in]

We went to Three Lions Cafe for a late lunch/early dinner after a day of shopping. There weren't many people inside and we were free to choose our seat. Our server very politely and diplomatically asked that, since we were seated at a table for four with only two of us, if the need arose would we be willing to switch seats, especially as we were right in line with the tv and the hockey game was on. We said "no problem" On to ordering, since we were there for neither lunch menu or dinner, we ordered from the finger foods menu. I got the fish fingers and chips and my friend got the potato/onion bhaji. Both were tasty and the portion was immense. Our drink orders and food orders were taken quickly by a friendly server with a welcoming smile and food delivered hot and in pretty record time! On my first visit, and there will be more, I give this establishment an outstanding rating for service, food choice, price and ambience. I immediately looked at the banquette seating and thought of summer visits with many friends, relaxing with good food and drink.
