Good food, good service...

When we lived in Vancouver about 13 years ago we visited the Granville Island Keg practically every weekend. Since we have moved to Mexico City we visit every time we come back to Vancouver ( almost every 2 years) we have NEVER had a bad experience in this restaurant in over 23 years.........

I live in Mexico and there is very little good curry down here (except for that which I make myself!) When I get up to Vancouver (every 2-3 years) this is one place I make a stop at every time! Good food, good value!

Well, I'm sorry to read some of the negative remarks, at one time this was one of the greatest fish and chip places in the western part of the North American continent! Period!

Good to read a positive comment from some "Brits" as they DO know their "fish and chips!" Troll's was always just a place one went to while waiting for the Nanaimo ferry, it was always a real bonus to find one of Canada's greatest "fish and chip" restaurants there........

Maybe people now just expect a little too much....

Sawasdee Thai Restaurant4250 Main St, Vancouver
This is VERY Special!

We live in Mexico, but we have few memories of Vancouver restaurants as special as the Sawasdee. We have eaten there only about a half dozen times in the past 20 years but each time was memorable! When my Irish mother first met my wife's Mexican parents, it was in Sawasdee, we all still remember that, almost 13 years ago. When my wife talks about the great cuisine of Vancouver, she gets tears in her eyes to this day when she even mentions Sawasdee!
I would give my left arm right now to be able to transport myself from Mexico City to Vancouver for a meal on Main Street at Sawasdee....
