I went here the other day because I have been driving by it forever. Finally decide to go in and have some lunch. I walked in and the decor is great, lots of booths and tables. The service was quick and very nice. I ordered off their lunch special menu, the panang curry w/chicken, it came with rice, spring roll and your choice of soup or salad. I chose the wonton soup. The soup had 3 wontons and they were great and the broth was tasty. I also ordered the roti appy. This was tasty as well. I ordered a fruit bubble tea, watermelon which was made of powder and was overly sweet but the pearls were great. My panang curry had lots of chicken and peppers, topped with crushed peanuts. The lunch combo was $7.50 roti $5 and the fruit bbt was $3.5. I could not finish my food so I wrapped it up to go. Still delicious a few hours later. They also do free delivery. Definitely recommended.
I just discovered this place in North Vancouver. Delicious fresh fruit slush. I absolutely love their pearls too. I haven't tried the "original" bubble tea but I will work up the courage but the fruit slush are great. The passion fruit slush is over sweet just to warn you. The service is always great, fast and nice. The value is good. A fresh fruit slush costs $3.50 with pearls. I always add extra so another $0.50. The inside has some old couches, I wouldn't sit in there. It hasn't been busy when I go but then again it's November.
I love this little place. It is always busy and always has great pho. I have tried other dishes and they are all pretty good but the pho is the best dish. The broth is amazing, not too salty and not too strong. Just delicious. I always recommend this place to people. The staff are nice and helpful as well, food arrives quickly. The decor in the place doesn't really match what they are serving but it is nice and cozy, like a little lodge or cottage. The prices are around $7.50 for a small which is a bit higher than most places but it tastes great.
We went here today for some brunch and we were very disappointed with the quality of the food. I ordered the spinach, feta, and onion omlette with hashbrowns, fresh fruit, and toast. I got my food and all looked well. I started to eat and the inside of the omlette was very runny and had a very strong taste and smell of fish. My hashbrowns were very tasty, but the "fresh fruit" was a very thin slice of melon, cantelope, and one strawberry. My bf ordered the Fresh Oysters, which were $9 for half a dozen, they came out with one wedge of lemon and some sauce. They were not served with the little seafood forks. We also ordered a calamari, which was bland. It wasn't the "normal" type of calamari that we are used to seeing. They were the ring style, very thick and chewy. The service was ok, we had to ask to get refills for our coffee, and the man who greeted us at the door seemed a bit pushy to get us inside. The value I would say was poor. We spent $50 for the oysters, 2 coffees, 1 appy calamari, and an omlette. I would say the deck would be the selling point of this place, even the deck is lacking. The tables were camper style plastic with metal legs and no table clothes etc. The view of the bay is nice though. I will not be returning to this place nor would I recommend it.
I have been to this location twice now and both times were good. I had the "wellington" the first time, it is a piece of fish with 2 scallops, fries, and salad. The fish, fries and scallops were good, but the salad was very limp and not good at all. I also got some garlic mayo for my fries and it was very good. My sister got "Johnathan" which was one halibut and one cod with fries and coleslaw. The second time we went we found the Halibut to be fishy tasting, almost off. We also have had the deep-fried mars bar both times and it is just okay.
The service here is very good. The waiter(s) are always refilling water and checking on you.
I find the prices to be good. Not overpriced, my dish (wellington $11) and my sisters (Johnathan $13) the deep-fried mars bar is in two pieces and comes with ice cream for $5. All the sauces are free (dips).
The ambiance is like any fish & chip place, cafeteria style, open space. Very small dining area. Overall I had a couple of good meals here so I will be returning for more.
I eat here all the time. The food is about as good as you want it to be, you choose the vegetables, meat, sauce and you can tell them how you want it cooked. The food is fresh and crispy, but the meat looks just okay, it is frozen and can sometimes be fatty. The service here is awesome, we just so happen to go on the day they first opened so we have seen the place from when it was slow to super busy and the staff and owners are always keeping up with the pace. The value depends on what you are getting. The all you can eat is a good deal if you want to try different things or you just eat a lot. The one bowl is an awesome deal if you already know what you are going to put in your bowl. Both of the meals include rice. The dinner includes one beverage. Prices and whats included is still changing probably because they just opened and are trying to figure out what their needs will be. The ambiance is pretty good, it can get crowded though. I will be returning again and again, and I will recommend it to others who like stir-frys.
I noticed this new Boston Pizza about a month ago and decided to try it. I have been here a few times and the food is just okay. I had the special they were promoting at all BP's you get a salad and a main course with one side dish. I found the food to be bland compared to the other BP I usually go to. The second time I had the Pulled Pork Sandwich, this was so bad. I took a couple of bites and it was good at first but when I got to the meat part of it it just tasted like alcohol. I was unimpressed. The service at this location has been hit or miss. I have gone and sat and waited and other times the server is there right away. I would say BP has overall good prices. They have a promo like I mentioned earlier which I find to be a good deal for around $10. The ambiance is wonderful here. The whole dining room is completely separate from the lounge area. They also have a couple of big screen TV's in the dining room area, which is nice if you don't want to go sit at a table in the lounge/bar area. I will probably return due to the location (right next to a movie theatre and the Quay)
I go to this place a lot. I haven't had a bad experience yet. The food is the same, really cheap around $6 for a bento box with either chicken or beef on rice with salad, California roll, a spring roll, a yam tempura, and a prawn tempura, with a slice of fruit. I never finish my food. They also have a sushi combo for the same price you can choose any three items and it comes with miso soup. The spicy tuna cone and negitoro cone are very tasty. The interior is nice on one side and on the other (no booths) it feels like a cafeteria if you have to sit there when it is busy. I will continue to eat at Yuko Maki due to its cheap prices, and good food.
I love this place and either go in or get delivery often. I usually get the Orange Peel Chicken which is awesome, kind of sweet and spicy. Mongolian Beef which is filling and spicy. Singapore style fried rice noodles, curry flavour and very delicious. The service here is always top notch. The value I think is great. My bf and I always share these staple dishes and always have leftovers. When you go in the restaurant to eat the menu has a combo on the back which is a great deal I think its $13 you get one dish with rice and a spring roll. The ambiance is great, kind of small but good. Will continue to go here and recommend it to anyone who likes spicy, flavourful Chinese/Szechuan food.
The first time I went to Burgoo I was not impressed at all. I had the Butter Chicken and I told myself I would not return. Then I went back to give it another try. I had the Soup & Salad combo. I had the sunset corn chowder which was so good. I wish it was bigger. The salad was very small but tasty, I can't name it because it was the feature salad at the time. The food took incredibly long to arrive and the server didn't come to our table until she brought out the food and then to clear our dirty dishes. I was going to order dessert but I didn't want to wait another 10 minutes just to order it. The prices are decent, they could either lower them or make the portions for the salad larger. The ambiance the night we went was extremely loud and crowded. Too noisy for me and too dark. I will go back though, overall I had a good experience this time around.
I have been to Thomas Haas a few times. The coffee, chocolates and pastries are so delicious. The service here is a tad bit slow but the staff are always pleasant. The prices are a little bit more expensive than your normal coffee/sandwich shop but the food is great. The location is odd, inside an industrial area, the cafe itself is small and cramped especially when its busy. Overall I really like this place and will return.
I have tried this Thai House a few times and every time the food is just okay, I usually stick to the little mom and pop places. I like the renovations and it looks wonderful inside, but the food is okay. I have tried the pad thai a couple of times thinking I would get the "Traditional" one but it always tastes like ketchup noodles, maybe ketchup is a staple in Thailand? I don't think I would return to this location and pay that much for such small portions.
I went here with my sister, shes not into baked goods, so she got some of the gelato, raspberry, it was super tasty, I'm not sure if they make it themselves, but it tasted amazing. I just went and got some of the treats, I got rolls and some baked fritter type things. Everything is very good. I will be returning for more treats soon.
I will start with the food, I have never ordered anything from this Cactus that was cold or anything, the food is always great.
The service is always good, I think once they forgot about us when they put us on the other side and there was no server, but they came over right after they found out what happened. We also went here once when the power was out and they gave us free appetizer coupons to come back another time. The prices here are the same as the other Cactus' clubs, they have the daily specials etc. The ambiance is my favorite part, this is an older Cactus and the inside is pretty small but cozy, they also have a large patio area with a fireplace.
My bf and I have been here a couple of times, C-lovers is a chain and we have been to others as well. The food here is always fresh, you can (if you really want to!) watch them fry the fish and fries. They have platters which can be shared, I believe in North Vancouver its the "north vancouver" platter, you get fish, shrimp, onion rings, a bun, fries etc. It's a pretty good value, and it's good to share. The price for the food you get is great. The service is pretty good, the ambiance is like a cafeteria, seats everywhere and its usually pretty busy. Love the fish.
I went to this place for brunch with my bf, and the food is amazing, I ordered the omelet with the spinach and cream cheese, it's great, I also ordered the crepes with the fresh fruit and honey, that is just amazing. I would say the prices are a tiny bit high but I really like the atmosphere and the food. I have been here for dinner as well with the coupon and I haven't returned for dinner yet, but the food was good and they have live music. I will be going back for brunch soon. The service is great, the food is awesome, and the atmosphere is relaxing.
I went to this place with my bf and we had been waiting for it to open for a long time. We went when it wasn't busy, we got seated right away, upstairs. We had to wait to order food, and then waited some more for the food. As I was looking over the menu, there is only 1 dish with the "fresh" noodles. Maybe they have added more, but when we went I wanted to try some of the noodles. The food was just "okay" not anything special, the service I would say was a little bit better than the food, and the atmosphere of the place was nice. I will not be returning to this place, because I can get way better Chinese food somewhere else for way cheaper. I do not recommend this place. Over-priced and food is very bland.
I love this little Thai place! The food is really good, I usually order the Panang Red Curry or Cashew Chicken. They have lunch and dinner combos. They come with coconut rice, salad, and a spring roll. The salad is pretty spicy though. I love the curries here, I have also tried the basil fried rice, pretty good.
The service here is pretty good, not over the top. Your water is refilled all the time, they don't try to up-sell anything.
The value for your money is awesome. The lunch combos are around $6-8 and the dinner combos are around $12 and you get everything (minus the drink)
The ambiance is a little dry, they have tiled floors and booths along the side, some pictures along the wall. But over all this place is perfect. The food is great the service is good and you can order takeout.
I just went to Tantra today for lunch and the place seemed nice enough. I ordered the Pesto chicken linguine and my other half ordered the AAA steak. Both dishes were bland and tasteless. I will not be returning at all. I am just happy that we used the entertainment coupon for our meal because it wasn't worth any amount of money. The atmosphere was alright I guess, more for the night life I am assuming. Our server was ok, but they seemed to have alot to talk about to one another. Not a place for food thats about it.
The food here was good. I had the Thai curry It was around $14 and also a mojito That was expensive $8 I would never get one there again. I loved my curry bowl and my bf got the Blackened fish sandwich it was good but the coleslaw they put inside made the bottom soggy. But overall I like this place and i plan on going back again. They also have a brunch menu that looks pretty good too.
