Newly renovated restaurant

The Pantry restaurant in Newton has had a complete makeover with new decor, new menus, new staff and new management. They have brightened the place up. New high tec touches include a big screen interactive TV in their meeting room and a new bar with big screen TVs where you can sit to watch your favorite sports. The new menu includes a variety of items at very reasonable prices.

Although we are not Indian we enjoy walking across the park to visit Prabhu Sweets to pick up some sweet snacks or a meal of samosas.
The place is always busy. Everyone from staff to customer is extremely polite. It is so busy that one wonders how you will ever get your turn. Miraculously it all works out and you get your turn to order from the cases stacked with colourful sweets or the cook to order items from the kitchen in the back. I have asked people why this place is so busy compared to other sweet shops in the area. Besides the obvious quality of the food and cleanliness of the place, the usual answer is that they can trust that it is 100% vegaterian.

This restaurant deserves a way better revue

We went on Saturday night with 4 adults and two kids 3 and 6. We were very pleasantly surprised by the quick attentive professional service and the delicious meals. We had two kid's pasta meals and two adult pasta meals off the menu. Our server when asked for suggestions mentioned a salmon appetizer that she said made a nice light meal. When we asked to have pasta instead of rice in the curry rice bowls, there was absolutely no problem. The server was back frequently to see if everything was to our liking and we even had another server come by and check and take away some plates. Refills of soft drinks were brought as needed and the server asked if we wanted desert and coffee. Since the kid's meals came with the famous lava icecream, the restaurant gave a brownie bite as a complementary desert for the one guest who's birthday it was. We all agreed that we would be back and would recommend this restaurant to our friends.
