A nice surprise

This restaurant provides good Japanese food in a town that doesn't really have a lot of that. It's in a converted heritage building, which is kind of neat but also kind of cramped. Everyone who works here seems friendly and the food is pretty good.

Consistently good

The Banana Leaf has never disappointed me. The food always tastes fresh and delicious. I think it's hard to find really good Malaysian food in Vancouver, so I'm glad for this place. It's also a nice way to introduce people to southeast Asian cuisine.

One of my favourite places to go and chill after a night out. I always love their milkshakes and the friendly atmosphere. Breakfast is pretty good here too. The service here has always been efficient and quick in my opinion.

My Favourite

I grew up going to this place regularly and try to go back at least once a year. The food is delicious and amongst the best Indian food you can find in the area in this price range. The owners are lovely people and still remember me and greet me warmly if I come in when they're around. The service is usually efficient and friendly. The pakoras and cheesecake are awesome!

Don't Waste Your Time

With so many good Japanese restaurants open in Vancouver, I regret choosing this one. The sushi was the worst I've ever tasted in the Lower Mainland. It was all soggy and flavourless. My Alaska roll had one measly little piece of salmon on the top. The inside was mostly lettuce. Terrible. When I complained to the server, he was rude enough to suggest that I didn't know what I was talking about. With so many better Japanese places nearby (especially for sushi) don't bother with this place.
