Terrible customer service
Submitted Friday, June 6, 2014 - 7:37pm [Take-out]

Worst service I've had in years. These people got our order wrong twice and then hung up on me. With 20 years of customer service I find it hard to believe they are still in business. You shouldn't hang up on people. Word of mouth is everything. I will not recommend to anyone that they should go here. There are many other places in Ladner and Tsawwassen to spend your hard earned money.

Unfortunately, it just wasn't there..

We also decided to visit Connor Butler due to the raving reviews but left somewhat disappointed. Connor visited our table and asked what we liked and seemed very enthusiastic on preparing the tasting menus with wine parings. He suggested some dishes that might suit our palate however they never arrived.

The tasting menu was alright, the lobster in the bisque was very hard to chew, had to cut it into pieces with a knife. The beef tenderloin was barely warm, (maybe your’re suppose to serve it that way) served with a reduction sauce which was just ok. The deserts were nothing exciting, I noticed the other tables had the same spread of deserts but the truffle was good.

Pairings of the wines were good except my wife explained she is more of a red wine drinker but most of her meals were paired with white and 2 pairings were white desert wines.

Service was good with 2 people working the floor but as it got busier you could tell they were stretched. Both very attentive and he explained all the dishes and wines to us as they arrived.

All in all the previous review from gourmetbride basically sums it up for me, the portions were small and for the money we spent I would have preferred to go to Diva or try Seasons

8pm reservation and we were promptly seated. First time there having used these reviews to find a restaurant and we were not 1 bit disappointed. Limited in season menu but there's plenty of other items to choose from the blackboards throughout including the steak frites. Our server was Adrian ( I think) sorry if I misspelled your name. He knew every item and how it was served, suggested a Belgian beer, helped pick out our wine and cheeses.
Started with endive salad and eggplant appy, both were delicious and plenty of salad. I had the 12oz sirloin steak frites and my wife had the tuna served with roasted veggies, both were spectacular. The beef was cooked to perfection and was as tender as any filet I've had. Finished with a selection of chesses picked from our server and all were very good. The staff helps each other out I noticed and all so helpful and friendly. If you’re in Victoria you have to try this place.

I remember 20 years ago having many dutch burgers at the Cambie Street dutch house and I've been craving these after finding out they still make the original burgers.

I was surprised to see the same named burgers on the menu so could it be that these lengendary morsels will taste and look anything like those burgers I remember....not a chance.

I had the Meek Myrtle, at least that's what I ordered. It came with a pre formed filler tasted burger patty, 1 slice of onion and what looked like fried ham and some relish. Not what I was expecting. Can't remember if you ever got fries but this was served with little square hashbrowns. The bun was fresh but wasn't worth the $9 I paid.

Only 2 other people eating at lunch with 1 server and 1 cook. Very nice people and the place is clean but I can't see myself there again. Not because of the service or ambiance but I had some expectaions for the food but it didn't produce.

What's with the Guacamole??
Submitted Monday, June 4, 2007 - 8:45am [Dine in]

Read the reviews and we decided to check it out for dinner Sat. Seating is tight all right and ambiance in nice however it's really dark in there, kinda hard to read the menu sitting on the back wall. Started with a couple of Margaritas, the berry was real tarty but the lime was excellent. We started with the chips / salsa and quacamole. Nicely done chips served hot and salted. Salas was good but quacamole was disgusting. They serve it in a mortar and pestle thinking it's freshly mashed but under the fresh green quac on the surface (about an inch) the bottom was completely black quac. I guess they just top it off with fresh. My wife just about got sick when she saw it, It was dark and I had already had a couple of scoops of this. Didn't want to say anything being shoulder to shoulder to everyone else so we finished our taco's and other meals and left. Pricey place, dark and cramped and bad quac, don't think I'll be back.

Wonderful Views - Pricey Meals
Submitted Monday, June 4, 2007 - 8:29am [Dine in]

Nothing better that going to Granville Island for a brunch on a hot sunny day , sitting seaside having a mojito. The meal there was ok, nothing spectacular, seafood salad, spinach salad, tempura halibut. I guess people must like the sweet yam fries they serve with the halibut, I wasn't to keen on them. Halibut portions are small for the price and the shrimp tartar sauce served with it didn't do much for me either, I don't like shrimp. Would of been nice with fresh real potatoe fries and homemade tartar sauce. My wife had the seafood salad which was nicely plated and full of seafood, she's never had a salad that expensive. Spinach salad was tasty with the goat cheese, good value and good tasting. Service was promt, didn't have to wait for service long. All in all good experience. Keep it Simple Guys

Not Bad...Not great...
Submitted Saturday, March 17, 2007 - 7:26pm [Dine in]

1rst time here for Sat morning brunch menu with 4 of us. Place wasn't too busy, lots of empty tables. Hostess was very nice along with the servers.
Drinks are reasonable prices but the ala carte kinda sneaks up on you. Eggs Benny for $3.95 for 1 egg is a little high without any sides, not even toast. For a complete dish comprising of 2 bennys (1 with alfredo and 1 spicy) a potatoe latke and farmer sausage was $13. Wasn't too impressed with the hollandaise sauce, it was to lemony and eggs were cooked a little long. (hard)
The terrine starter was great, could of used more than 6 pieces of bread though. Chicken quesadillia was tasty but small portions, Burger I'm told was good. Good place for brunch if you like ala carte and friendly staff, I'll try it again for dinner next time.

no consistency
Submitted Friday, January 5, 2007 - 12:02pm [Dine in]

Went to Feenie's last week for the 3rd time this year and every time I go it gets worse. Had the eggs benny with solid hard boiled eggs covered with that lumpy egg scum. The waitress, when I complained just shrugged her shoulders and walked away. Looks like when they split the salad up between our plates my wife had all red leaves (bitter) and I had all green. Lots of staff but the wait was long with only 6 customers at that time. First time was good, second time mediocre last week the meal was alful. I've got $150 left in gift certs I was given maybe I'll try lumiere.
