Shabusen Yakiniku House755 Burrard St, Unit 202, Vancouver
Rush Evening of dining
Submitted Tuesday, September 29, 2009 - 11:57am [Dine in]

Made reservations for a late dinner at Shabusen and was told to be on time or early as they close at 10:30, early i find for downtown vancouver on a weekend. Got there early and despite having reservations we had to wait till 9:45 to get seated and from then on the meal was rushed, we ordered quickly but food was slow to come out and we ended up ordering more than we wanted as the original orders never came out. I saw them discourage people from eating there who arrived at 9:30 a strange business decision if you ask me, since the restaurant was not that busy.

The food was average for an all you can eat, hot food came out cold and lacked taste in alot of accounts.

I don't think I'll be back here any time soon, rather go elsewhere for better service and food

Delicious Beef Noodle Joint
Submitted Tuesday, September 29, 2009 - 11:49am [Dine in]

Been to this place a couple of times now and the noodles have not dissapointed yet. The portions are large and the noodle soup dishes are very tasty. Be aware when they say spicy the noodle soup was really spicy.

Their special fried chicken is also really good and made fresh it comes out crispy

I will be back here again and I recommend it

Solid Korean Cuisine
Submitted Tuesday, September 29, 2009 - 11:46am [Dine in]

Tried Han Woo Ri after hearing great things and I was not dissapointed. We opted not to cook ourselves but order pre-made dishes. Be aware that your clothes will smell like BBQ after you leave this place.
The Seasfood Pancake was very tasty and amde to perfection with a nice crispy bottom. The rice dishes we ordered were very favourable and the Jap Chae was solid and tasty.

We also ordered the raw beef dish with the egg and pears/garlic, it was the best I have had in Vancouver and the beef tasted extemely fresh and prepared to perfection, I will be returning for sure. This place can get very busy on weekends though so reservations are a good idea.

Great Thai food
Submitted Wednesday, July 22, 2009 - 10:16am [Dine in]

I have been here a few times and have always left happy and full. The food is great and cooked fresh. I love coming here on a sunny day and sitting on bar seating out front that overlooks the street and enjoying the sights and sounds as i eat a big plate of pad thai noodles.

The currys are great too very flavourful and full of the coconut flavour thai curries are known for. Always friendly service adds to a great place.

Nice place in New West
Submitted Wednesday, July 22, 2009 - 10:12am [Dine in]

Nice homecooked Malaysian food in New West. The chicken rice is pretty flavourful and the noodles dishes i have tried have been fairly tasty and cooked fresh.

I found the prices a little high but this is due to its location in New West and I think they take advantage of the fact that there is really nothing else like this in the area to cater to the locals. I will be returning despite the cost as the food impressed.

Gone Downhill
Submitted Wednesday, July 22, 2009 - 10:08am [Dine in]

Hon's was the best for cheap chinese food in the past, but over the last few years it has been heading downhill. The food now lacks flavour and does not compare to all the other local chinese offerings the area has to offer.

I find the food bland now and nothing is special about this place. It still is reasonably priced but I will take my money elsewhere to get a better meal.

Nice location for a drink
Submitted Tuesday, June 23, 2009 - 12:25pm [Dine in]

nice place where you can unwine for a drink at the end of a long day. I tried it for lunch and the food was average considering the prices. I tried the southern fried chicken sandwich which was good but nothing too special.

Neat atmosphere with couches and a lounge like feel. I would go back for a drink after work but not for their food.

Great Noodle Place
Submitted Tuesday, June 23, 2009 - 12:20pm [Dine in]

great little noodle place in Metortown area.

I always get the large bowl as it fills me up and is great value. The dumplings are also a good choice and go well with the bowl of noodles.
The soup base can be very spicy so if you dont eat spicy u may want to make sure u get the server to make it not spicy or beware. Small place that fills up quick during lunch time and a great location close to metrotown.

You Know what You Are Getting
Submitted Friday, March 27, 2009 - 4:43pm [Dine in]

With Hons you know what you are getting. They have been consistent from teh begining offering reasonably priced large portioned chinese food. I have found the flavour has gone downhill in last few years but still a consistent spot for chinese food at a very reasonable price. get the potstickers they are always a tasty favorite

Great Pizza
Submitted Friday, March 27, 2009 - 4:33pm [Dine in]

The variety of pizza goes beyond the norm and they offer some of the most unique and tasty combinations around. Everytime I go I try to get a different type and I am usually pleasantly surprised by how well the strange combinations work with the unique ingredients. They are not open for lunch though but are very busy come dinner time.

I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting pizza that is not the generic peperoni or haiwaiian.

Greasy Goodness
Submitted Friday, March 27, 2009 - 4:27pm [Dine in]

Visited Dave's for lunch on a friday afternoon, there was a slight wait despite there being free tables, as the servers were not cleaning them. After the short wait we got seated and I ordered the 2 piece cod and chips. Good value for price around $11 for 2 big pieces of fish, scoop of coleslaw and fries.

Freshly fried and greasy. not bad fish and chips for steveston, but i think I prefer Pajos. They do have a larger menu here for deep fried seafood including clam strips

Triple O's4151 Hazelbridge Way, Unit 3260, Richmond
Worst Frachsie location
Submitted Thursday, November 27, 2008 - 11:48am [Dine in]

I am a huge fan of Triple O's as they offer a quick way to get White Spot burgers and enjoy the meal without having to sit down at a white spot restaurant. But this location has me rethinking that theory. The service was terrible as the employees did not seem to know the menu at all and had difficulty taking my order. I ordered the special yam fries only to have the server give me an upset look that he would have to go and make me these fries.

My order took over 20 minutes to be prepared. Too long for a quick burger joint and to top that the prices seem to be higher at this location as well. I will be returning to Triple O but never at Aberdeen Centre

Great Food, Great Experience
Submitted Thursday, November 27, 2008 - 11:42am [Dine in]

Went here for a family birthday and was very impressed. We ordered a 10 course set menu and the results were great.

The food was fresh and tasty. They offered some unique dishes that went beyond the typical offerings seen in other Chinese restaurants.
I enjoyed the Pumpkin and Black Bean Crab dish which was very tasty.
The Egg white and dried scallop fried rice was done very well and offered alot of flavour. I definitely recommend Seas Habour and will be returning in the future.

Sub Par Pho
Submitted Thursday, November 27, 2008 - 11:37am [Dine in]

I have been to Pho Hoa a few times only because it is one of the only Pho places in Richmond open late. The service is touch and go as you are often ignored as the staff sits at a table and talks among themselves.

The food is typical of all the Pho Hoas, pretty much what you would expect from a chain Pho place. I would only come here if you are looking for Pho late at night in Richmond. Go to the family run Pho places over Pho Hoa as you will get a better meal.

Like a Visit to Mexico
Submitted Sunday, August 31, 2008 - 11:14pm [Dine in]

The atmosphere, food and numerous people around you speaking meixcan makes you feel like you just walked into a cafe in Mexico not Vancouver.

The food is very tasty and authentic. I had the steak meal that comes with beans, rice and 3 flour tortillas. The multiple salsas and chilis allow you to season your meal to your tastes. Beware the hot salsas as they will put a fire in your mouth. This is the way to visit Mexico without leaving Vancouver.

Great Pho, Great Service
Submitted Sunday, August 31, 2008 - 11:09pm [Dine in]

Tried this Pho place after reading good things about it online. The menu is large and very impressive. The Pho is very tasty and reasonably priced. I also asked for extra noodles and received it with a smile from the friendly server.

The spring rolls were very big in size and freshly made, I will definitely be returning. I recommend this Vietnamese restaurant to anyone looking for a good deal on Pho.

Decent Pho
Submitted Monday, August 18, 2008 - 4:06pm [Dine in]

This Pho joint does not compare in flavor to the Vietnamese run places in town but still gives its own take on the classic Pho noodle soup. The bowls are not huge in size compared to other places and the noodles I found to be chewy and not as tasty as in other Pho places. They have the Vietnamese sandwiches here as well that are reasonably priced and quite tasty. But I have come on a few occasions where we could not order it as they did not have any bread in stock.

Quantity over Quality
Submitted Monday, August 18, 2008 - 4:01pm [Dine in]

This is not the place to visit for high quality sushi but the portions are crazy. The rolls are huge and can feed any hungry guy. I have taken out the $20 sushi tray before and it is enough to feed 4 people dinner. Great value and you will definitely be full. Whenever we are looking for a big sushi meal and not wanting all you can eat this is the place to visit.

Great Bubbletea
Submitted Monday, August 18, 2008 - 3:58pm [Dine in]

I come here regularly for the bubble tea. Although they are a little more expensive than other places in Richmond it is definitely worth it. For $4 you can get a milk tea with pearls that is a slightly smaller size than other take out places but the drink is not powdery tasting and the pearls are awesome. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for good bubble tea in Richmond, they should come here.
