Kobe Japanese Steak House1042 Alberni Street, Vancouver
Updated Menu - Amazing Food
Submitted Tuesday, April 24, 2012 - 2:58pm [Dine in]

Finally! Kobe has a new menu including beef tenderloin!! It's amazing; melt-in-your-mouth, the only thing that was missing from this place. The ambiance never fails to disappoint, fun for all ages, my only complaint is that they shoo you out of there while you're still eating your last bites of food. Great steaks, expensive but worth it.

Nice Place, Fab Pizza

I didn't expect to come to such a nice place and order a pizza, but I'm glad I did! I love the ambiance; the after-work crowd winding down with a nice cocktail. They have a great wine selection and the most amazing pizza in the lounge. I will definitely be back to this relaxing, luxurious spot.

Great Mexican Place
Submitted Tuesday, April 24, 2012 - 2:53pm [Dine in]

The food here is wonderful and authentic, with dinner plates starting around $9! Chips and wonderful homemade salsa come with your order, and the drinks are good too. There is one crazy drink there that comes with a Coronita as a GARNISH! The slushy drinks are not good (all artificial instead of real fruit), but that is my only complaint! The decorative details are truly authentic, and the owner Antonio is so friendly and attentive. Great new spot!

Cardero's1583 Coal Harbour Quay, Vancouver
Amazing View, Good Food, Great Wine
Submitted Tuesday, April 24, 2012 - 2:37pm [Dine in]

I have been coming here for years. Cardero's makes for one of the best spots to have a lunch on the year-round patio with its stellar view; probably the best in the city. (The lounge seating by the front bar is also as comfortable and breathtaking if you grab a spot by the window).

The wok dishes are always good; the rib appetizer is the most tender I've ever had, you could eat them with a spoon, and the miso cod was amazing.

They have amazing specials ($10 for a burger and a beer, etc.), but really, come for the view, the rest is just icing on the cake.

Il Giardino1382 Hornby St, Vancouver
Best Italian in Vancouver
Submitted Tuesday, April 24, 2012 - 2:32pm [Dine in]

This has been my favourite restaurant for years. Sadly they got rid of my favourite appetizer, the prawns wrapped in potato with balsamic glaze, however, the beef tenderloin with red wine reduction continues to be my favourite entree. This is one of the best steaks in the city; it melts in your mouth. The bread is amazing, the service is wonderful, and the owner is always wandering about making sure everyone is happy.

The best ambiance is in the back area, not the bar seating, and the terrace is beautiful in the summer. Hands-down my all-time favourite romantic and/or celebration spot. Dining here makes for an evening in itself.

Great Little Mexican Place
Submitted Wednesday, March 7, 2012 - 11:16am [Dine in]

This is a great little Mexican place...my girlfriend and I went there for dinner and I had only been there a couple of times, but the owner recognized me and gave us a free shot of tequila to start off...he totally made me feel welcome! I started with the chorizo appy and then had the flautas...both were awesome. I have a dairy allergy and it was no problem for the cook to make my order without it.

I also noticed on the menu they had CORN TORTILLAS too...for all your gluten-free people, you can actually eat here! They can pretty much replace any flour tortilla meal with corn...amazing.

We had a few Coronas and enjoyed the live music, also performed by the owner! This guy is so friendly, welcoming, and all-around awesome...eat here if you want to have a good time with a good crowd.
