Not worth the humbug

We went to this restaurant because of the great location (across from the English Bay) and because we had heard that this was a solid restaurant. Well, although the waiter went out of his way to accommodate us, the host was very rude, the cook needs to go back to culinary school and the ambience for which we had gone was actually an irritation, as the sun as directly in our eyes. When we asked to move, they refused!! Why did we stay? To give them a chance to redeem themselves, as we thought that at least the food would be better in a place like this. Humph! I ordered the Wild Pacific Coho Salmon which was supposed to come with vegetables, and rice infused with basil and cilantro. The salmon was dry and the rice tasted as if it had been micro-waved a few ties as it didn't taste like Jasmine rice ( I am a rice connoisseur) , but like rice cakes - dry rice cakes! The vegetables were a few green limpid beans. My sister ordered the Miso glazed fish which didn't taste anything like the description on the menu - and oh yeah! there was ONE edamame bean! What a complete waste of time this was as we had to wait for over 40 min for our meal! I would never go there again, even for the view! As well, they double charged us for drinks! Which we unfortunately did not correct, as we just wanted to get out of there! Never again, is all I can say!!

Poor Food and Poor Service

When friends from Calgary wanted to eat fish and chips we went to Go Fish. We went there because we were already at Granville Island and the ambience seemed OK to us. No, not the parking lot, but the water and the boats!
Ugh! That's all I can say about the tasteless food, which was a basket of soggy uncooked fish, about 25 (yes, I counted!) soaking wet with oil chips and a small cup of raw and bitter something they called coleslaw. This was definitely not what we had expected after standing in line for about half an hour. Of course when I asked to speak to the owner; (after all, why would we pay $$$$ for trash); I was told he was not there, and when I asked to speak to the manager, he was unavailable! Hmmmmm....
And yes, there can be a myriad of excuses for this dismal experience, but they would still be excuses!
Go Fish would do better to Go Learn some basics.
