best brunch experience!!

WOW!!! This is a must experience brunch especially if your used to European quality service.

I don't need to go on about the decor, it's been hashed over several times, I love it, it's kinda disco era jet set!

The brunch selection covers all the bases but i usally go for egg dishes. You're greeted in abosolute professionalism and are comped a hot chocolate and a crossaint. The food arrives togather and leaves together, something that the world outside North America understands. Who wants to finish a meal when everyone elses has been cleared. Why do restaurants in Vancouver do this? This meal is complete when everyone is finished, this way everyone feels included and can enjoy food at their own pace. You are not sold dessert of the bill while you're still enjoying your entree

The plates are modern and unsual and the presentation is clean and minimal. The place settings are of high quality and the Italian cloth napkins are thick and luxurious. The food is fresh and well prepared, hot and delicious.

Whoever trained the staff should be made to set new stardards for other quality restaurants.

Been going to Zen for about 10 years, lately I feel it's really showing it's age. The tables seem closer than ever, the table cloths are ready for the garbage, the whole place feels worn and seedy. The washroom / service corrider is a horror, crowded , worn and not clean.

The food is still hit and miss, fruit salads are freshly cut and great! Sausages ane deep fried as are the potatoes, eggs are tasteless.

The staff are still friendly but the whole experience feels assembly line and rushed. These places can't rest on their reputations for ever, your customers deserve improvements and up keep. Most small cafes are now serving much fresher brunch fare like free range eggs, salads instead of potatoes, turkey sasauge ... you get the picture.
