Crab House Restaurant
Submitted Wednesday, April 2, 2008 - 5:03pm [Dine in]

I like alaskan king crab but not ordinary crab that is so messy and bear the risk of hurting my tongue or losing a tooth when eating. I'll be joining some hactel friends for dinner at this restaurant this Friday and only found two reviews of although not bad and yet the phone number is way off, can't even call to check if they take credit card or not. Rated "3" for now, stay tuned for more...

Compare with the Old Circolo
Submitted Thursday, October 18, 2007 - 6:03pm [Dine in]

It's neat place, I like the grand piano setting when it was the old Circolo, but this new renovation provides ambient space at the front. You can rub shoulders at the bar area before seating for a meal.

Menu is not of much variety but solid, those french fries rings look unique but taste awesome. Chocolate sushi for dessert is bit out of the ordinary though.

Overall it's a great place to hang out with a big crowd for an evening.

It's a decent place, price is not mediocre but in my experience service has been good. Alfred, May and Spencer are great people, Dicky is friendly, dim sum ok, dinner is great.

If you plan to spend less, don't go.

This is the place, I mean THE PLACE to go if you enjoy washing down pub foods with foamy suds.

View is great, rain or shine, good to be there for breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner and late night snack, of course with a few pints of foamy suds.

Nowhere in Canada that it's that great. I can sit there from dawn 'till dusk and charge everything to my visa, bravo flying beaver.....

No impressed
Submitted Thursday, October 18, 2007 - 2:58pm [Dine in]

Not quite impressed when we brought a clipped discount coupon and the staff didn't honour it, said it's old but there's no expiry date on the coupon itself. This made me wanna go to the Currey Express at the foodcount in Lansdowne.

I would expect they honour for that puzzy ten percent discount and we'll order dessert with a 20% tips. Food is ok, not great, place is small, I went to the Tandoori King on Fraser and 64th the following week and felt much better, good luck to your business Chutney Villa.

Good suds, taste rack
Submitted Thursday, October 18, 2007 - 2:53pm [Dine in]

This is a place for you to wash down ok food from a menu seldom changed but with good beers. Recently been there for three times in the past few weeks, the extra bitter is a must-try, stout is great to close the loop, Sunday is all beer special day you won't wanna miss.

Tried their pasta, burger, french fries and as said, menu not much variety on. Hostess, servers and manager are friendly and wouldn't mind bringing you a shoter glass portion of beer if you have problem in deciding between their seven kinds.

It was a nice place and if you really having problem in deciding, order a taster's rack, worth it!!

Richmond Sushi & Top Gun Kingsway
Submitted Thursday, October 18, 2007 - 2:41pm [Dine in]

It's fairly priced for all you can eat especially if you go there for night special after 9:30 pm. Don't expect great service, ok to order 'till you drop over their wireless handheld device. Sometimes a few dishes may not come cuz they're given to next table. But it's ok cuz you can order more.
Same owner of Top Gun in New West and on Kingsway and Boundary. No liquor licence for the one on Kingsway, but hey, all you can eat....

Yup, this is a place that no one should expect any above average fine dining type of service, the fish cafe across the street is just a little better in term of service, and its your choice between grass eater or from the pond.

Not sure if their liquor licence is gone, there are a few taps there, and a neo sign of Whistler Brew on the wall, what's going on???
