Excellent greek food
Submitted Friday, April 1, 2011 - 5:06pm [Dine in]

I used to live in this area and I have dined in and ordered take out from here a handful of times. When you walk in you know with out even seeing the sign outside that it is a Greek restaurant. Their menu has plenty of items to choose from but I personally really like the pasta with Alfredo sauce. You can just taste that the sauce is made from scratch and the cheese they bake on top is just icing on the cake. Sometimes the service can be lacking when it comes to bringing you water or taking drink orders. They do have some excellent cocktails in their drink menu as well but be warned they use real cream in all of their milky cocktails like the paralyzer. Another warning their hummus can be really intense. The first time me and my boyfriend went there we ordered it. We knew it had an intense garlic flavour because it was burning our tongues a bit but at about 3am (7hrs after our meal) we ended up having to go the local corner store to pick up milk and ice cream in order to get some sort of relief from the intense garlic burps. But that humus definitely tasted good and was worth the garlic burps, just have some dairy at home just in case.

Going downhill
Submitted Friday, April 1, 2011 - 4:56pm [Dine in]

If your looking for a good sports bar to drink a few beers and watch a football or hockey game at, this is the place to go, but be prepared to go early because the place gets packed on game day/night. As to everything else, its leaves something to be desired.

Me and my boyfriend used to go to this bar every Sunday early afternoon for a breakfast (they had excellent eggs benny) and a few cocktails. It was always a safe bet and the waitresses already knew what we were going to order when we came in. We would also go for dinner and drinks from time to time and never had any complaints. Then all of a sudden they took they eggs benny off the menu so we started going to the ABC Country across the parking lot. We still continued to go for dinner once in awhile but we noticed that the food was going downhill. Then one night we went in for dinner and I ordered a chicken casear wrap and a couple of cocktails. As I took my first bite out of the wrap there was a weird taste. I had ordered this many times before but for some reason it tasted different. I opened it up and there was chipolte mayo spread on the wrap. Now I don't mind chipolte mayo but not a this type of wrap and no where on the menu did it say it was now in the wrap. I usually order double shots in my cocktails when I go for dinner and drinks so I know how strong it should be. The bartender was watering down the drinks.

For me bad food and watered down drinks definitely took this pub off my list of places to go.

Decent cheap sushi
Submitted Friday, April 1, 2011 - 4:43pm [Take-out]

The only thing I can really say about the place is it is decent cheap sushi if you like to fishy taste of cheap sushi. I don't think they use the freshest of product but its nothing that would get you sick. They have a sushi special that will definitely fill you up for under $10 (incl tax). They don't have any sort of interesting maki roll concoctions so it is just your run of the mill sushi that you would find anywhere.

A great value and a wide selection
Submitted Thursday, March 31, 2011 - 4:26pm [Dine in]

I have been to this restaurant a handful of times and I have yet to have a terrible experience.

The food is excellent but just a warning the maki rolls have a lot of rice so order 2-3 rolls first and then order more if you want more. The service is decent if you are there before 6pm. After 6pm this place is packed with people lined up out the door to get in. Every time I have come to eat here they have forgotten an item or 2 that someone has ordered, and this is whether it is busy or not. The food always comes out quick but if its busy good luck trying to find your waitress to locate any missing items that have been ordered. Once you have told your waitress they are very quick to bring out the missing items though. The ambiance is great and being that is is a house there are plenty of private rooms for larger parties, including 2 upstairs.

Everything is great about this place except the service is lacking most of the time.

The best I have ever had
Submitted Thursday, March 31, 2011 - 4:12pm [Dine in]

I have had sushi from many different restaurants in all cities in the lower mainland so I know Tokyo Sushi Express is excellent. Every new restaurant I go to I compare it to Tokyo and when ever I am in Surrey I make sure I make a detour to this restaurant. I used to live 1 block from the restaurant so me and by boyfriend would usually order about once a week. There has been a time or two where the sushi was not up to par but out of probably over 100 times I have ordered from here 99% of it was excellent. They even have a customer card that for every $10 before tax you get a stamp, after 10 stamps you get a free California roll. It know tis now much but I have not been to any other sushi places that offer this perk. The price of the sushi is average and worth every penny. They have this special Tokyo Sushi spicy sauce that they use in some of their rolls, such as the newton roll, that is like no other. The service is always great and I have never had to wait more than 20 minutes (when they are really busy) for a take out order. The restaurant itself is small so you cant really take a large party their, but for 4 or less per table its ok. The restaurant caters more to take out so don't expect amazing decor.

Over all this restaurant is a sure bet for excellent food and service.
