They Changed There Menu, Same as Yuko Maki!
Submitted Thursday, April 2, 2009 - 6:10pm [Dine in]

I went in today for take out and they had a new menu. The thing was they were the exact same as the ones at Yuko Maki right down the road on pemberton, like exactly same menu. They are missing some of the great combs from before and the prices are higher. It is exactly the same as yuko maki now so no point going to it since its harder to park.

Had a bad case of the munchies, pretty much wanted to eat as much sushi as possible and only thing open really was Robson Sushi, should have just manned up drove out RIchmond smh. Man this place sucks. Dynamite roll was grossest thing I have ever had, samishi was gross and soggy, california roll sucked, Spinach gomae was warm?!? To sum up my visit I was baked out of mind and didn't even enjoy it, which says a lot.

Best Sushi In West Vancouver Bar None
Submitted Wednesday, February 25, 2009 - 9:19pm [Dine in]

Yanaki is my go to sushi place in West Vancouver. I have been to every sushi joint in WV many times and Yanaki takes the cake for best sushi in West Van. When walking in you are always greated by the 2 sushi chefs and the waitress. The place is very very small though. It is located on 16th and marine beside where the old bike shop use to be. The food is amazing. Never been let down, sashimi is top notch and fresh, and the Spinach Gomee is out of this world, best I have ever tasted, highly recommend it. They also don't overload their rolls with rice which is nice. Service is great as well. While it is not the cheapest sushi place around it is by no means expensive. Rolls here tend to cost 1-2 more than your average run of the mill sushi place, say 3.75 for a california(real crab)roll, 4.50 for a dynamite roll. Ambiance is pretty good, clean and cozy, just really small. This place is way better than places like Zen which charge rape prices. Check this place out you will like it.

Dependable
Submitted Saturday, August 9, 2008 - 2:19am [Dine in]

Earls Tin Palace is always a good place to hang out with your friends for drink while still being a nice place to take your family for dinner. The food is pretty solid, not the greatest and portions can be small, but still good none the less. The service is pretty good, most of the servers are very nice along with being good looking. Not the greatest value in the world though, ambiance is nice as well, the patio is a nice place to be in the summer.

So Cheap So Good
Submitted Wednesday, January 16, 2008 - 3:09am [Dine in]

Got lunch there. Went for the pad thai. Was sooo good! Came with salad that was ok and only took around 10 minutes. The helping was very generous, and the pad thai tasted fresh and great, one of the best ive had in a while. I have had expensive thai food at expensive thai restaurants and this was just as good. OH YA!! It was only 7 Bucks!

Terrible attempt at Thai Food
Submitted Monday, November 26, 2007 - 6:03pm [Dine in]

Wow I cant believe this place is rated so high. They use sooo much processed sauce it ruins the whole meal. I saw them put it in its the same large jugs that you can buy at costco. Is it that hard to make stuff from scratch these days. The food just makes you feel sick after eating it and is no good. You get barley any protein and it is overpriced as well. Lots of suckers fall for this generic north american thai food and it is a shame.

Cafe Mexico1425 Store St, Victoria
Boring and Overpriced
Submitted Monday, November 26, 2007 - 6:00pm [Dine in]

Was here for lunch. First thing I noticed was how tacky the place was. They had crap hanging from everywhere and it makes the space feel claustrophobic. The food is standard fake mexican food. The one thing I couldn't believe was how over priced it was. My friends got those mini burrito things that they serve at 711 too and they were 9 dollars for 6 extremely small ones. My chicken quesadilla was small as well and it was 13.00 dollars! I got nothing on the side as well. At cactus club a quesadilla is around 8 or 9 and is much better. I dont get how you can get off charging for guacamole and sour cream and salsa at a mexican restaurant. All in all I will never step foot in Cafe Mexico again.

Fun Place to Grab Brunch!
Submitted Saturday, November 17, 2007 - 5:28pm [Dine in]

I went to John's Place on a saturday afternoon at around 12 30. Place was packed but was lucky enough to grab a table. Menu wasn't bad they had tons of breakfast options, not the most healthiest though!. Service was really friendly John's wife is very sweet. Portions are huge, food took a while to come out though, due to being so busy i am guessing .

Best Late Night Pizza Ever
Submitted Saturday, November 10, 2007 - 3:14pm [Dine in]

This is the best pizza in the world when its 2am and you just got out of a club or something. They have a lot of selection and neat pizza you dont see many places. So much better than the crappy other places around it. Priced great too only 1.50 a slice. Only bad part is the line because there always is one. Great pizza especially when your craving something like this to.

Nice Resturant Average Food
Submitted Wednesday, October 31, 2007 - 10:25pm [Dine in]

Had a date to azuma recently. Found the food to be not as great as my date. The Yakisoba was drenched in sauce and made me feel sick. Also the Sushi was very dry and the rice felt off. I had to cover my Cali roll in soy sauce. The service was good and very good though and the restaurant was decorated nicely. All in all I will not be going back here.

Not Great Really...
Submitted Tuesday, October 16, 2007 - 12:40am [Dine in]

A lot of people go here because it is the place to be seen in west van. The food really isn't that good and is overpriced. The views and setting are very nice don't get me wrong but a lot of people here do not know good food and are just looking to burn some money. I would not come back here there are many better restaurants on the north shore. Not many though with location like this though.

Extremely Cheap and Pretty good
Submitted Saturday, September 29, 2007 - 1:38pm [Dine in]

Lately I have gone to Dundarave Sushi a lot. The prices are very cheap and the sushi is actually pretty good. You can get a miso soup California roll, a yam roll and a cucumber roll for only 6 bucks. The kitchen stuff is also pretty good. Just a warning though DO NOT GET the Gome salad it came out frozen when I got it. At the end of the day yes there are better sushi places in west van but Dundarave sushi is a nice clean and cheap place to eat or get take out from!
