Surprising
Submitted Wednesday, March 30, 2005 - 8:25pm [Dine in]

If you like the Irish pub atmosphere and the dark heavy beers then you, like me, will be happy to find this watering hole in the much bar-deprived kerrisdale area. Two surprises accompanied me and my Guiness. The first surprise was that the lamb stew was amazing. If you go there, then order it. Your reasons for not ordering it will be unfounded once you bite into this hearty stew. The second surprise was my drinking buddy's bill. He asked for a double patty on his burger ($7) and he got it but when the bill came that charged him an extra $4 for it. He might as well of got two whole burgers. Mind you its hard to care about prices on a full stomach.

Shiru- Bay was much hyped to me before I enjoyed a great dinner with some friends. The claim of everything under $10 was exciting enough but even better than cheap eats are cheap eat that taste like a meal you'd expect at a fancy-smancy restaurant. The atmosphere alllowed for loud conversation for groups of people and the service was good enough to get us all fed and quenched without waiting too long.
