What a lovely surprise!

We had a family dinner last night and decided on Seasons Hill Top Bistro. Everything about the dining experience was excellent. Wonderful service, tasty food, great views..prices were reasonable and definitely good value. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and I would recommend it 100%. The weather also participated and we had a clear view of the city and mountains. Wow!

We went to Bishops to celebrate a birthday and we left happy. It was expensive but the the food was superb and the service was really professional. They were there when we needed them to be and always kept an eye on us without any intrusions. We were very impressed with the whole dining experience. They looked after you from the time you arrived to the time you left their restaurant. They called a taxi and even opened the taxi door for us. Very classy act.

Great food but lacked class!

We went to Villa Del Lupo this evening for a marriage proposal anniversary dinner! We'd heard great things and were looking forward to it. We're both foodies and love trying out different restaurants around town. First of all, the food here was excellent. I had the beef tenderloin and he had the lamb.

The service was good but my rant here is with our waiter. When I put in my order of beef. He went on about how people who don't eat out very often in fancy restaurants stick to the good old reliables. I thought that was a bit rude and not true..I just didn't feel like risotto or pasta tonight!

Then I ordered a bottle of wine and he commented "okay, pretty standard". I was ready to leave at this point. Standard alright but at 40+ dollars a bottle in this place, it's what we could justify! I agree with him. My choice was pretty standard..pretty boring but sometimes boring is good too!

The ambiance wasn't great..it's such a beautiful old building..I imagined I"d hear great music and it was just this awful "The Big Blue" type soundtrack stuff. Okay music but not appropriate for an Italian fancy restaurant!!

Over all, excellent food and a good restaurant but I don't think we'll be back.
