Not Bad
Submitted Saturday, November 29, 2008 - 11:49pm [Dine in]

This was my first experience with fresh ramen. The restaurant was very busy with a steady stream of customers. The place was brightly lit and the tables were very close to each other, and some seats were "tree stumps" lol. I had the ramen set, the ramen was nothing special but the gyoza's were very tasty. The menu is quite limited but the restaurant has a kind of fast food feel to it. The food was fine and the service was very attentive and friendly.
Overall a decent experience, may possibly return someday

Completely disappointed
Submitted Monday, October 13, 2008 - 3:49pm [Dine in]

I recently had dinner here on October 10, 2008 and was very disappointed with my dinner experience. We started off with drinks, and without a drink menu and without prices offered, we decided on heinekens. After we asked for the price, the server said she'd be right back with the info, but she never did and the price was 6.50 a bottle, it actually costs more than a club to get a beer here. Not to mention the beer was not cold, but the "cold" glass provided to make the beer cold did not do the job, considering this is a bar-ish place, unacceptable.

On to the food, i got the penne tip which i think which was an awful reference to the name of theis establishment "bottle (tip)per)". It was bland, the serving portion was dissatisfying for 15$ pasta and uncomparable to Anton's, and it was made not according to its description, missing ingredients such as avacado.
Server did not check up on us once to see how the food was contrary to prior reviews.

This place is a complete disappointment from the other reviews previously posted here and I and my friends will not be returning to this "restaurant" and i will also inform others to avoid this place and you too should find a better place worthy of your patronage.

Come here for the food, nothing else

The food was very good. the rolls were fresh and were appetizing. the service was alright, just seated us, took our order, and brought our food, no conversation, probably because it was busy and there were only 2 servers. Not much else to say, the prices are a good value, but like i said, come here for the food and not much else. Take out would be good. Will return but only for takeout.

Wow. Considering the decent to good reviews prior to this one, I decided to try this Greek restaurant. The ambiance was interesting, the placed looked kind of rustic and cheasy, but I prefer it to a more modern plain look. We were seated by the waitress, who was unpleasant and seemed to be elsewhere in her mind. The service was one of the worst i've experienced, she was a red-head by the way, because she never told us her name, all she did was place the menus, and come by afterwards without any conversational words and just asked what we'd like to order and left the table as quick as humanly possible. She seemed quite rude and snotty as well, quite a disappointment. On to the food, I had the mousakka, which was decent, but the serving was quite small. I also had the callemari, which was good. For the higher priced food than other greek restaurants, the value is just not here. The food and decor are decent here, but the service really brings it down. I hope this isn't the case with others, but this was the case with myself and i will not be returning.

There are many other better greek restaurants around this area along Hastings, pass on this, and enjoy the others.

Good food and price, but long wait
Submitted Sunday, April 6, 2008 - 1:52pm [Dine in]

The decor of the place was contemporary and not much greek-ness to the place that is common with many other greek restaurants. They menu is quite limited, mostly the common souvlakis and a few others. I had the lamb shoulder and callamari. The lamb shoulder was tender and actually did fall right off the bone. Very good. The callamari, although they gave an abundance of, was mostly batter, but it was fine. One quam i had was the wait time, it was saturday evening and we waited about almost an hour and a half for our entrees to arrive and the restaurant wasn't that busy. The food is good and relatively inexpensive to other greek restaurants, i'd advise going to this place on another evening when they don't take so long, or if you're willing to wait. I will not return, as it was an okay experience, but not worth a return visit.

Good food but...

the portions are way to small! i've been to many chinese restaurants and this takes the cake with small portions. I had to try their wonton soup-because it's in the title. Well the wontons were quite good and the noodles were not all bunched up, which is great. i also ordered century old egg congee, also good, but i only got 3 1/2 rice bowls out of it. Overall, this place has good food, but the portions are definately lacking.

The place looks new and apparently-from a friend-a lot cleaner from what it previously was. Service was alright.

Probably won't come back here again because of the serving size and it causing me to feel ripped off.

and i had basically the same experience as most others. I arrived at about 9am and it had only a few customers. It was strange to me since it was breakfast time and i recalled the long line ups mentioned in other reviews. It was a friday morning though, and after about 10mins, Bon's was filled! Really nice place to grab a breakfast, and nothing beats the 2.99 breakfast. Now i wouldve liked the potatoes to be hashed for i've never had potatos like that for breakfast, how do you complain with the pricepoint. Portions were more than adequate and the service was well aware of all the patrons and prompt to fill up coffees.

Will return for the cheap eats and the relaxing atmosphere!

Been here twice now...

and i've had two different experiences. The first time i came here i had the spicy tofu soup with potato noodle. the food was good and it came with the small sidedishes that commonly accompany your entre. The ambience and the setting was very nice in that the restaurant had been styled and modeled with Korean influences. The service was decent but somewhat unfriendly.

The second time i came here, i decided to try out the BBQ since that was what its specialty was. I had the Lunch special 5.99 bbq pork and vegetables and the portion was small, but with the salad and side dishes, it was worth the 5.99. The service is quite on and off as the servers can just barely speak english competently enough to answer your questions.

Overall, good food, decent service, and nice ambience, it's worth a try, at least for it's lunch special BBQ for 5.99 which is worth it IMO.

Out on a friday night...
Submitted Thursday, September 13, 2007 - 11:17pm [Dine in]

me and my family decided to try cristos as the normal greek restaurant that is about 1 minute away was closed. The restaurant was quite full, and as we didnt have any reservations, we had to wait, but no complaint about that. we were then seated with a warm greeting, but our water and drinks did not arrive for about 15 minutes. I had kalamaria skaras (grilled squid). it was extremely salty and rubbery, and i had wished i had ordered the deep fried ones after i had tried some from my brother's dish. The setting of the restaurant was very nice, and when the sun was setting, the atmosphere was delightful and a charming place. although i did not like the kalamari,a the rest of the dish was decent. If i'm in the area again and the other restuarant is closed and i'm in desparate need of Greek food, i'll give it another go, but not with the kalamaria skaras.

Okay food, nice place, awkward service
Submitted Thursday, May 24, 2007 - 1:54am [Dine in]

Whenever i go to a greek restaurant, i always order somesort of lamb dish. This time i went for the lamb souvlaki and it was tender, but i have definately had better. Also, the portion size of the dishes were quite small and the waiter did not seem at all involved. Overall, this place served mediocre food in an interesting looking restaurant. I probably wouldnt eat here again but it's was worth a try since I've driven past this place a million times and had never tried the food.
