I think it's interesting that those of us that used to go to the Kegs in the early 80's as the cool place when we were late teens, are back again and being catered to as young families. Bring a 5 year old with you and within a minute of being seated in a big booth (that fully supports squirming kids) that they've laid on a kids menu, the crayons, and a plate of cut veggies to satiate the little one so you can get into the wine list, uninterrupted. The Keg has clearly understood their demographics, and do a good job making us feel welcome (unlike Earls, Cactus, etc.)
Beyond that, I have really enjoyed the consistency of great service, and the great quality of the food, for a casual dining restaurant. We've decreased our meat consumption about 50% in the last few years, but there's always the save-up for a great Keg steak. Congrats to the staff and management of Keg Park Royal--thanks for making us feel welcomed.
