Eaten there twice and loved it.

The place is fairly large, but fills up quickly, so go early or plan to wait. Patrons are mostly Chinese, which is a good sign for authenticity of food. The pickled chilli and beef is a definite favorite, but be warned - there's a reason why chillis are listed before the beef. Hot! The eggplant is a delicious and milder accompaniment, slightly sweet and seared. Almost everything we've tried so far has been really tasty.

Definitely worth a visit, even if it means driving across town to try Hunanese food.

Went there for the first time on recommendation from a friend. Was definitely worth it. Very simple and plain, but without the layer of grime some places of this ilk have. The waitress was very friendly and helpful as we perused the somewhat unfamiliar menu (we're regulars at the likes of ChongQing on Commercial and New Grandview on Fraser - both great). Many of the items on the menu sound the same (eg. Szechuan style) but we were told they aren't, so ask before deciding if you're tempted by two similar sounding dishes. We had the Szechuan style beef with sprouts - it was delicious - very flavourful and spicy, but a little oily. We had the marinated duck, which was nice enough - mild, crispy skinned, and tender, if a little bland by comparison. We also had the beans with ground pork - again delicious - pork was fried to a crisp, although the beans were slightly overdone and the garlic not for the faint of heart. The portions were ample and we ended up with lots of leftovers.

We're looking forward to going back to try more stuff. Yum!

I've been here a few times now, and it reminds me of Portugal -- you can count on the fact that the food will be really tasty, just like your grandma would make... if she was Portuguese... The piri piri chicken is definitely worth the effort to pre-order; but everything we've had so far has been great. The service is great -- go there a couple of times and they treat you like family; only you don't have to do your own dishes. Definitely a must try for a casual night out. Be warned, the kitchen closes at 7 on week nights.
