Cosy brunch at the Lamp
Submitted Saturday, November 12, 2011 - 5:33pm [Dine in]

Six of us enjoyed our brunch - great burgers and fries, and all the rest was good too - salmon, braised short ribs and an omelette. I finally got to try waffles and chicken and really liked it. I wish there had been more chicken on the plate, but it's on the menu as a brunch item so I guess that's not the featured part. Good value and terrific service - our server Kayla was friendly, efficient and polite - even when one of us asked to take home about four french fries (for real).

Mediocre

I've been here many times before and always liked the food. Six of us had dinner here last week. My daughter and I had different types of tagliatelle - I had the chef's special, which was flavourful, but very oily, heavy and over-sauced. My daughter's was very bland and had an awful gluey texture. Not really edible. One of our group had fettucine alfredo, which was quite oniony - not bad-tasting, but the menu didn't mention onion as an ingredient and she doesn't like onions. The two pizzas were good. Service was just fair - one order was forgotten and came late, and they didn't have the beer I ordered and it took a long time to tell me that and then bring my alternate order. Value would have been fine if the food were better. I won't be going back for quite a while. . .
