Baked goods
Submitted Wednesday, March 19, 2014 - 3:14pm [Dine in]

We went in to try out their breads and they had a very good taste.

I didn't like the food they serve as I was expecting a homemade quality I've had in other Afghani restaurants. Obviously, this is not a restaurant but a bakery.

I would stick to baking and providing a variety of different baked goods at your location. I bet around Norooz time, this place would rock!

Also, gluten-free baked goods would be ideal as well.

It gets pretty warm inside as well.

Bloated
Submitted Wednesday, March 19, 2014 - 3:11pm [Dine in]

We went out to give it one last chance but as it turns out, we ended up with bloated stomachs. I have no idea what they add to the food that causes these symptoms.

I've been to a variety of Chinese restaurants in BC, and this one is below par. Too bad, because they do offer good prices.

I guess I better go check the other locations, just to be thorough. I'll keep you posted.

The owner was disrespectful
Submitted Wednesday, March 19, 2014 - 3:07pm [Dine in]

We decided to try it out and the owner, he was hitting on us. He kept coming over and asking if we would marry him. He's creepy and I WOULD NEVER go back.

The dish I ordered was okay, but I didn't like the sauce. I ended up taking it home and throwing it out.

I think we need a new Italian place in town because the owner needs to be more respectful towards female guests or retire.

I don't like the entrance either. Plastic curtain? Eww.. I WOULD NEVER invite anybody here. This place would be a last resort, and I would recommend stick to having a drink with your buddy.

This place is ALWAYS busy, so finding out about the Grand Opening that took place yesterday, was sublime.
So much that we've made reservations for Nana's birthday next weekend! Woo-hoo!

Oh, don't forget! They have live music and dancing, if you're so inclined, on Friday nights, starting at 6:30 p.m.

Ole!

Especially now that it's Spring Break, it gives the busy families bring their kids in and have lots fun. The kids were running around as much as the staff were.

So they have officially placed some of our favorites on the menu such as the Tostadas and the Monster Burrito.

I've been to other Mexican restaurants and this one beats them all!

Most of their clientele are seniors. And you know why? Because they have been coming here for decades. Some of the seniors move very slow, but they feel comfortable coming here because the staff are very patient.

I know the expectations when going out to a restaurant have changed and you expect things to be a certain way. However, this place has friendly staff and they know you by name. If it is your first time there, they will make you feel at home.

The waffles are delicious, you have to try them. I also like their lemon chicken, although I recommend the rice over the noodles, but if you like noodles, then go for it. Plus, they serve breakfast all day.

I mix my dish with chicken, beef strips and fish. I know that they say you shouldn't mix your protein that way, but it was soooooooooooo good. And you can add your favorite vegetables and sauces. And if you haven't tried any of the sauces, go for it! I guarantee that you won't be disappointed.

It's better when there's lots of people, because the last time I went alone, I got a little buzz from the Irish Coffee. It was strong like whiskey but it warms you up fast.

I've been going there for years and they just built a liquor store. Right next to Columbia Sky Train Stn, a few blocks from the Royal City Star riverboat casino and night clubs and the Paramount and Douglas College and the Keg and the New West Quay. A nice area with many other restaurants to choose from.

The bartenders are always up for a chat. There's a patio and it's great in the summer.

I recommend the beer, the hard liquor and the salads. And you can always catch up with the community news in the Lower Mainland.:)

My salmon is juicy and they make it the way I request it--with lots of garlic. Must try seasonal veggies and drinks. The staff are extremely professional and they tend to anticipate your needs and curiosities.Oh, you gotta check their bathrooms. They're gorgeous.:)

Okay, so if you're in a hurry or just passing by, this place is yummy. The ingredients are fresh and the staff are friendly. The drinks are always cold and you must try the gelato(my favorite: Raspberry Cheesecake).:)

This food is made with love. Close to home, made fresh everyday, baklava is to die for(my favorite: Walnut Baklava), must try the Arabic Espresso (not bitter, just strong). Everyone is so friendly, always smiling. The ambiance is like being at home! :)
