My biggest complaint is the dismissive attitude of the staff. They make you wait if your party is too small because they want to fill the tables with big parties first. Twice they have refused to give me a booth because there was only two in my party - even though there were many empty booths. As for the table service; there are many staff, but they often ignore you.
The prices are too high for what you get, e.g. $10 for a tiny appetizer consisting of few sticks of celery and a chunk of tofu. And stay away if you don't like very spicy food.
I was hoping to eat healthy, but was disappointed to find most the seafood choices fried or covered in some thick (read calorie-rich) sauce. The portions were small and the prices were too high.
The place smells like a moldy old basement, and even the waiter had bad body odor. The finishing touch was the paint peeling off the ceiling.
Needless to say, I wouldn't go back again.
Somewhat overpriced - like $2.25 for a skimpy cut of salmon sushi, $6.25 for a small bottle of Kirin beer.
The service was really lacking – like waiting over 15 minutes for our very simple order to be served. When I ordered a dessert we waited another 20 minutes before I finally cancelled the order (and the place wasn’t half full so I’d hate to see what the service would degrade to if it were busy). The only consolation is that when I complained about the lack of service they discounted the bill.
Ambiance was OK – nice woodwork/colors, some private booths, and everything seemed clean and new. The spinach gomae tasted good.
The food was typical Chinese. Good service & large dishes, but they go heavy on the salt (sodium?) because I'm still thirsty the next day after!
Also, the restaurant is one large room with dozens of tables and gets very noisy with everyone shouting to talk over everyone else. The place is on a second floor if that's a concern for you.
