Dinner before Giant's Hockey game - Friday Sep 21, 2012
Submitted Sunday, September 23, 2012 - 12:28pm [Dine in]

The Press Box is under new management and has a new menu. The quality of the service and the food has improved immensely and the ambiance is all about being a fun place. Joe Leary from Shore 104 comes in regularly to play some tunes and get people to participate in trivia games so they can win free beer. Nothing wrong with free beer!!

I had their fried chicken basket for dinner (4 pieces of chicken that came with cole slaw and fries) and it was awesome - not greasy - rather was crispy on the outside and very tender inside. The Manager (Doug) told me it was something he brought with him from his days at Marriott and he hopes it will be a big hit at The Press Box. My wife had their new potato skins appy - quote from her "they were very good" - and she snagged one of my pieces of chicken when I wasn't looking. She agrees, the chicken is awesome!

I heard a rumour that they are planning to have live bands in the bar. If they do that I will definitely stop in after the game. It will be a good way to celebrate a win by the Giants!

Valentine's Dinner 2011
Submitted Monday, February 21, 2011 - 8:32pm [Dine in]

We love going to Seasons In The Park - it is our favourite place to go for all of those special events during the year. Valentine's Day this year was no exception.

We were greeted in style as usual by the reception / coat check and were offered seats in soft leather chairs by the fire place for a pre-dinner drink. The servers were cheerful and very friendly and helped us to make our drink selections. After settling into our drinks we were gently escorted to our dinner table at the window with a magnificent view of the city.

The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. They have always been willing to accommodate changes that you might request to suit your tastes so your dining experience is perfect. This Valentine's Day the menu was new and it included several casual dining choices along with many of their typical fine dining menu items. It was refreshing to see this as an option and we will certainly come back more often to try them out. We always order the Season's stuffed mushrooms - this Valentine's Day was no exception - we hope they never change the recipe and that they always remain on the menu. It is one of the reasons that we have been dining there for the past 15 years.

The dining service at the table was excellent. The staff were very attentive and careful to meet our needs - fresh baked bread, water glasses filled, topping up wine glasses, and our beef tenderloin with peppercorn sauce were prepared to perfection. It is primarily the experience of enjoying the view from Queen Elizabeth Park along with the excellent fine dining service that brings us back each time we have friends in town or when we need a special night out. The reputation of Seasons hinges on this and we are very happy with the service every time we dine there.
