Good Food
Submitted Sunday, January 16, 2011 - 1:37pm [Dine in]

I went to this restaurant after a few years. The food was good but not outstanding. Used the entertainment coupon so this was not a bad deal. I am not sure if i would pay full price. I did not like sharing my table with others as this lady across us was asking too many questions. I was out with a friend and wanted to catch up rather than talking to his lady. I will go again.

Poor food and ok service
Submitted Saturday, October 16, 2010 - 3:44pm [Dine in]

This restaurant has now moved to Main Street at 56th ave. Their food used to be good but went there for lunch and it was terrible. I paid over $40 for lunch for 2 people and was still hungry. It took a long time to get your chai. The food was not good at all and I have had much better Indian food. I used to go to the Fraser and 65th location but I had to try their new place. It's the same owners so not sure if the cook has changed. I will not go back and butter chicken was terrible. It tasted like cardboard.

Marble Slab Creamery1184 Denman Street, #103, Vancouver
Not worth it
Submitted Tuesday, August 3, 2010 - 12:27pm [Dine in]

Went by English Bay for a nice stroll with some friends and end up at Marble Slab for ice cream. We waited for about 20 mins to get our ice cream. There was nothing special about this ice cream. We could have gone to the local safeway and got better ice cream. Please don't waste your time and money on this place. It was not cheap either. There are alot better places for ice cream.

Not good food at all
Submitted Thursday, March 4, 2010 - 2:27pm [Dine in]

Went for lunch with my daughters as they suggested this place. They had been to Whistler one so they asked me if we could try this place. The food was horrible and there was no taste to it. I added many sauces but there was no flavour to the food. I would not again as their food was bad and the service was very average. My daughters did not like the place either. The beef was so hard and wraps had no flavour. It's was not busy at all at lunch and i should have left rather than staying for lunch.

Bad food but good decor
Submitted Monday, December 7, 2009 - 8:25am [Dine in]

Order a stir-fry with chicken and green curry. Green curry was very mild and average quality. I have had much better curry. The stir-fry was also very average. The decor was nice but food was not good. It bit expensive for what they give you. I would not go back. Both my gf and I were not happy with the food. Try some other place

Not bad food
Submitted Friday, November 27, 2009 - 9:40am [Dine in]

Had lunch at the drive. There were 6 of us and we had made reservations for lunch but they only had a small table available. This was ok. Had the yam fries which were good. Their soup was good also. Had a chicken wrap which was good. The restaurant was busy. The service was good but a bit pricey for what you get. I would go back as i would not mind trying different things.

Was there for dinner with bunch of guys from the office. It was a monday night and there was 9 of us in the group. The server mixed up the orders and food was not good at all. We could have gone to much cheaper place and had a better time. The decor is only good. The appys were average and dessert was ok. I have had much better steaks at the prices they charge. Would not recommend this place at all

Good food but expensive for Indian food
Submitted Monday, October 5, 2009 - 3:54am [Dine in]

Went here for dinner on weeknight and the restaurant was not too busy. Good food and service was bit slow. Many choices and we stuck to grill items rathe than trying the curry. Had a couple of their appys and they were good. Samoas were good and mogo was excelllent. Had the chiken tika and miskaka beef skewers and they were both good. Had a Mango lassi and that was also good. Too bad they don't serve any alcohol. All of this food came to about 65 dollars which is expensive for indian/african food.

Not a bad lunch
Submitted Monday, October 5, 2009 - 3:45am [Dine in]

Had a client from Thailand so wanted a quick lunch. Went here around 1pm and was lucky to get the last table. The restuarant is not big but seem like thel lunch crowd had just finished. Had a steak and my friends had mac/cheese and chicken wrap. They said that it was good. Not too expensive and quick meal. I would go back but parking in the area could be a problem. This is close to skid road so lots of junkies around. May try dinner one of these days.

There were some babies etc. Our server was great she got our breakfast fast and came to re-fill coffee quickly. May try lunch one of these days

Not worth the money
Submitted Thursday, May 14, 2009 - 4:44am [Dine in]

Went for dinner last night with some friends. Decide on Mortons as some of us had not been here before. Had a salad for the appy and crabmeat and steak for dinner. The crabmeat was good but nothing special about the steak. I was thinking of asking for A1 sauce for the steak. My dessert was very good chocolate lava cake. The coffee was cold. Spent over $120 per person as we had some wine with dinner but I don't think i will be going back as there was no value for money we spent. In these tough economic times there are better restaurants around. I am sure that I can get this type of dessert some other place. It was an average night. Nothing wrong with the service but the food quality was very average.

Ok Dim Sum not outstanding
Submitted Thursday, February 26, 2009 - 4:51pm [Dine in]

Went there today for a bussiness lunch and had the dim sum It was ok nothing outstanding. Sure the building and decor is nice but the food is not outstanding at all. It was expensive also and most of the items were very greasy. I was hoping to have lots of seafood but there was not much on the menu or the trays that they got us. The deep friend squid was good but again it was cold. Parking is also a problem in the area so be prepared to pay good money for parking. The restuartant was busy but mostly Canadian rather than Chines people. I don't think you get your value here. THere are many other dim sum places that one can try.

Good lunch time buffet
Submitted Tuesday, February 24, 2009 - 11:13pm [Dine in]

Had passed by on the weekend and saw that they have a buffet on weekdays. Tried the buffet and it was not bad. They had butter chicken, tandoori chicken which was very average, beef ball currey which was a bit salty. The vegetable disher were not bad. The rice was good and the dessert were excellent. This place was busy at lunch and service was good. They served fresh roti at your table. Not bad for value as it was $8 per person. I am not sure about dinner but lunch was not bad. I would try again.

Decent food
Submitted Sunday, February 1, 2009 - 12:28am [Dine in]

My daughter wanted to go this restaurant for some time so we tried it this evening. We did not have reservations but we did not have to wait long. Suprised that they were busy for an early dinner. It's has pub type of environment. My daughter ordered a pizza which was not bad. I had the halibut and fries which was not bad also. The fish was from frozen fish but still tasted good. We did not want to have any dessert there as we wanted some speciality ice cream. Lots of people were trying the DOV menu which looked good also. It bit pricy for pizza but it was good pizza.
Service was good as our food came quickly and were asked many times if everything was good.

Good deal for NYE
Submitted Friday, January 2, 2009 - 12:25am [Dine in]

Went for dinner at the boathouse. I am not a big fan of the boathouse but some of friends wanted to go there for dinner. We had made reservations and our table was ready. They took our drinks order quickly and got our drinks. They had a special menu for NYE and it was excellent. We had a late sitting reservation so they had run out of a couple of items. The portions were hugh. Had a great time and rang in the new year at the restaurant. I would go back again and the service was good and food was excellent.

Happy New year to all

Went here for lunch today and did AYCE. The salad bar was very average. Nothing special on the buffet. Lamb was a bit of an odour, Chicken was very tough. Did not have the sausage or pork. Beef was good but most of the pieces were rare. Also, had the dessert which was just ok. I don't think i will go back as there are better places to try. Service was not bad the they kept coming with the meats. Not too busy at lunch.

Not bad Indian food
Submitted Sunday, November 30, 2008 - 11:21pm [Dine in]

Went for dinner on sunday night. It was not too busy and food was decent. I must say that it was on expensive side of indian food. Had chicken and prawn for appys. For the main course had the halibut, chicken and lamb. It came with rice, vegetables and naan. everything tasted good. Had Kulfi for dessert which was not Indian style but not bad. I was not too impressed with the masalia tea. they can improve on the tea. Good selections of wines. I would go back.

We went for lunch today and tried AYCE. The food came quickly and service was good. The food was decent quality. The place was not very busy. We tried many items on the menu and all were good. You also get free pop with your meal but we just had tea as pop does not go well with japanese food. Saki would be good. I would go back to this restaurant.

The servers were really friendly and were quick to get us our meal. Shashmi was good quality also.

Asked for 20% tip
Submitted Saturday, September 6, 2008 - 9:33pm [Dine in]

We had dinner this evening and restaurant was not very busy. The waiteress took our order and we got the wrong items. The cook had mixed up our order which was not a problem for us as we had to wait an extra 10mins to get our other dinner entre. She did not apoloize for the mistake. the food was very average not wortth the $$$ they were charging. At the end we used our enteraintment coupon and she told us that we ned to tip her 20%. I told myself RIGHT!!. If the serive was outstanding then I would but not for average food and service. Not a good way to run a restaurant.

I would suggest don't try this place as there are many other mexican restaurants in the city.
