Below average food/service
Submitted Wednesday, January 23, 2013 - 10:11am [Dine in]

Went for dinner with a friend. When we got there there was only a couple at a table. The restaurant was not busy at all. The server was friendly at the start. We ordered our dinner and it came quickly. Portions are small. Not worth the money they charge. Once he got our food, he did not come by and ask how we were doing. Reminder if you order coffee you only get one free refill after you have to pay for it each cup. This is not mentioned on the menu. There are much better resturants in the area with better value and better service. Not sure why this place is still around. Will not return again.

Very average PHO
Submitted Sunday, January 20, 2013 - 6:56am [Dine in]

Went Bao Chau as I thought they may have good PHO. Nothing special. Just run of mill. service was ok as there is not much to do when you prepare pho. I think people go to this place as they are a bit cheaper than other pho places. There are much better places to go for pho Will not go back.,

Good Service
Submitted Sunday, January 6, 2013 - 1:26pm [Dine in]

We went to Bombay Se for late lunch/early dinner. There were no partron in the restuarant. The waitress told us that the lunch buffet was still on and it was $11.99. We took a quick look and they had butter chicken and goat currey for their mains. They also had a couple of vegetable dishes. I asked for Tandoori chicken but they did not have this on the buffet. For this price you also get a soft drink/dessert and Chai. Not a bad price. We ate and she got us fresh naan at our table. You also have a choice for garlic naan or plain naan. I think she also mentioned that the have Roti. Food was ok. I would not say it was outstanding but not bad for the price. There were lots of choices so one could not go hungry. The server was also very good. She checked on us a few times. She looked bored as we were the only people in the resturant. Not sure if it gets busy at lunch time or dinner time. The resturant is big with lots of tables etc. Would go back but there are too many Indian resturants in Surrey to try.

Not good desserts
Submitted Monday, December 31, 2012 - 7:58am [Dine in]

Had met up with friends and had a nice dinner at different restaurant. Then the kids wanted to go to True Confections for cholocate desserts. The place was not busy when we got there but it got busy after. The service was good but the food was very bad. The coffee was not good also. This desserts are very dry we had ordered 5 different desserts and I tried them all but they were not good at all. Good have gone to Safeway nearby and picked up a nice cake or to Whole Foods. It would have been cheaper to eat the dessert at home. Never again. It used to be very good but not sure if ownership has changed.

Good Food
Submitted Wednesday, December 12, 2012 - 10:42pm [Dine in]

Went for dinner on a week night and resturant was busy. A good sign. Seemed like many people were celbrating Christmas. Good selection of food. Had the raw seafood for appy which was very fresh and good. Then had a salad which is good. Had sablefish for the main and this was also very good. Did not have many choices for dessert but milk choloclate was good. Coffee was not hot but did not complain. A little pricy but good food. Parking is bit of issue

Food was average
Submitted Sunday, October 28, 2012 - 8:35pm [Dine in]

Went for dinner at Handi. We were the only customers in the restaurant but it was an early dinner for us. Had the chicken tikka masla which was good. The eggplant curry was very average. Tandoor chicken was a bit dry and there were no sauce to go with the chicken. Naan was ok. Also had the vegetable pakora which were good. Thought the food was expensive for what you got. Service was not bad but we were the only customers so this should not have been a problem. Not sure if they will make it as not many customers in the restaurant. It was bit expenisive for Indian food.

Decent
Submitted Wednesday, October 17, 2012 - 10:37am [Dine in]

Went to Edge Cafe for brunch on sunday. It was a very wet day so wanted some comfort food. The restaurant was not busy so got seated right away. i had the salmon sandwich and my friend had the beef dip. Both were good as they use wild salmon for sandwich. It was a bit overcooked. Coffee was decent but don't get the dark roast as this was very bitter. The place got filled up very quickly after we had ordered our food. It was not a cheap place as it cost about $40 for 2 sandwiches and coffee. The portions are big so you did not go hungry. I might try other things when i am in the area. parking can be tough. Their deli counter take out looked good also.

Good food on nice sunny day
Submitted Sunday, September 16, 2012 - 4:53pm [Dine in]

Went for a birithday lunch. It was a very sunny day so decide to sit on the patio. We shared a butter nut squash soup which was excellent. I had the short rib benny and my friend had steak. Both were very good. Service was excellent and very enjoyable. We also had the bread pudding which was good as they had run out of other desserts. I will go back. Parking was bit hard to find as Stevenston is busy on sunny days. The patio was full and not sure if there many people sitting inside the restaurant. This place is not a cheap place but you do get value for money.

Went for lunch today. It's was not too busy as this restaurant has just opened. Service was good and food was good. We ordered chicken wings, cassava for appy's and I had the short ribs. My friend order the noodle soup with stew beef which looked good. The decor was good. Lots of street parking so there was no issue there. I will try again. I did not like the chicken wings as they had a very mild favour. This is not your cheap pho type of restaurant.

Disappointed -Overpriced Greek Food
Submitted Tuesday, July 31, 2012 - 2:24am [Dine in]

A friend of our who is Greek recommended this place to us. Went there for dinner and got seated right away as the restaurant was not busy. We ordered our drinks and our dinner. The food was very average. Ordered the Arni Pesto Roast lamb which very lemon taste. The bread that they serve was whole wheat. The greek salad was warm so not sure how long it was sitting around. They sure pile up your plate with rice which is cheap. If you don't want the rice then there is an extra charge. Had the entertainment coupon so used this but it was still not cheap. I will not return as there are many other places that serve better Greek food and you don't need an entertainment coupon.

Submitted Monday, June 25, 2012 - 10:02pm [Dine in]

Went here for a quick lunch as it was recommend by someone at our office. I ordered the lunch special but it was not good. I paid almost $10 for lunch as was not full at all. The quality of food was bad and warmed up in the microwave. Maybe their chips and salsa is are ok. I will not go back. Save your money and go to Ironwood Mall for lunch. Lot of choices there and you could also eat at McDonalds which will better than this Deli

Went on Saturday night and the place was busy. I had the trio cake which was good. The quality of desserts are good. They don't have any drip coffee so did not try any coffee. Would go back if I am looking for a good dessert place. Parking is hard to find.

Went here for lunch after stroling in Stevenston. The restaurants were busy in Stevenston so that would try this place. It was not busy as it was sunny day. Service was good but food was very average. Blackened Halibut burger was good but the steak was very average. Not a cheap place either. You can get better food at many restaurants in Richmond. I don't think i will go back. No fault of the server as she was great.

Stale Cakes
Submitted Saturday, March 3, 2012 - 12:11am [Take-out]

I went to Bon Bon as the reviews were good. I am not sure why they got good reviews. The cakes were not good and tasted stale. It seems like they were old. In fact one of the customer asked if the shortbread cookes were fresh. She said that they are from Christmas time which is 2 months old. I would not go back. I will stick to Bon Ton as their cakes are excellent. Parking is also hard to find in the area.

Good Food and service
Submitted Monday, February 13, 2012 - 11:29am [Dine in]

Went to Szechuan Chongqing Burnaby on saturday night with a bunch of friends. Glad we had made reservations as the place was very busy. Got our table quickly and ordered right away as we were all hungry. The food came fairly quickly and quality was good. It's a tad bit more expensive compared to their Commerical street location and portions are a bit small also. One of the disappointing thing was that they don't have round tables so don't go in a very large group. We all enjoyed our dinner and would go back again.

I pass by this place every week so I thought i should try it. Very friendly service and the burgers are great. I also like their onion rings. The prices are also very reasonable and place was clean. They burgers are better than White Spot burgers. Parking can be difficult but you can park at Save On Foods lot and walk. They also take 10 mins to make your burger. Will go again.

Went to Water Street cafe for weekday lunch. Had some out of guest so tried this place. Service was good and quick as the restaurant was packed. Food was not bad but I would not say that it was outstanding. Had the Artic char which was special of the day. Not bad. Some of my guest did not like their pasta as it was salty. I also had the beet salad which was very average.

Went here for dinner with a group of people. It was a weeknight and place was very busy for a weeknight. I think being Chinese New Year many people were celbrating Chinese New Year. I had the crab cakes for appy and sablefish for main. Crab cakes were just ok but the sable fish was good. Nice size portions but still very expensive. They many choices on the wines. Dessert was very average. I think you can get better. Ambiance was nice but the tables were very close to each other. Would go back if I was celebrating some event.
