Went here for lunch after stroling in Stevenston. The restaurants were busy in Stevenston so that would try this place. It was not busy as it was sunny day. Service was good but food was very average. Blackened Halibut burger was good but the steak was very average. Not a cheap place either. You can get better food at many restaurants in Richmond. I don't think i will go back. No fault of the server as she was great.
Went Elphant and Castle for lunch. Had the turkey sandwich was was very dry. The side salad was very average also. My friend had the chicken sandwich was also not that great. Had the corn chowder which was very salty. I don't think i will come back as there are many other resturants in the area. May try the Lions Pub next time. The place filled up quickly as it was lunch time. Service was ok
I went to Bon Bon as the reviews were good. I am not sure why they got good reviews. The cakes were not good and tasted stale. It seems like they were old. In fact one of the customer asked if the shortbread cookes were fresh. She said that they are from Christmas time which is 2 months old. I would not go back. I will stick to Bon Ton as their cakes are excellent. Parking is also hard to find in the area.
Went to Nandos for a sunday lunch. There were lots of people there. Food was good and reasonable priced. I will go back. The place was clean and the chicken was very tasty. Lots of local people here. You order at the counter and food is brought to your table. All of the sauces are at your table.
Went to Szechuan Chongqing Burnaby on saturday night with a bunch of friends. Glad we had made reservations as the place was very busy. Got our table quickly and ordered right away as we were all hungry. The food came fairly quickly and quality was good. It's a tad bit more expensive compared to their Commerical street location and portions are a bit small also. One of the disappointing thing was that they don't have round tables so don't go in a very large group. We all enjoyed our dinner and would go back again.
I pass by this place every week so I thought i should try it. Very friendly service and the burgers are great. I also like their onion rings. The prices are also very reasonable and place was clean. They burgers are better than White Spot burgers. Parking can be difficult but you can park at Save On Foods lot and walk. They also take 10 mins to make your burger. Will go again.
Went to Water Street cafe for weekday lunch. Had some out of guest so tried this place. Service was good and quick as the restaurant was packed. Food was not bad but I would not say that it was outstanding. Had the Artic char which was special of the day. Not bad. Some of my guest did not like their pasta as it was salty. I also had the beet salad which was very average.
Went here for dinner with a group of people. It was a weeknight and place was very busy for a weeknight. I think being Chinese New Year many people were celbrating Chinese New Year. I had the crab cakes for appy and sablefish for main. Crab cakes were just ok but the sable fish was good. Nice size portions but still very expensive. They many choices on the wines. Dessert was very average. I think you can get better. Ambiance was nice but the tables were very close to each other. Would go back if I was celebrating some event.
Went to this restaurant with my friend. We did not know that they had dine out menu that evening so we tried this. Parking is hard to find but we were very lucky. Food was not bad. We had the salad and hommus for appy. Tried the lamb shank and chicken for entree. The lamb was good but fatty. The saffron ice was very good but the balacava was so so. The place was busy and we did not have to wait for a table. It was late when we got there. I did not get a chance to look at their regular menu but would go back. They also had many Veg options.
Went to Cioppino for lunch. This restaurant is not open for lunch and they only do dinners. It was not very busy at lunch time. Service was good and food was not bad. It was very expensive. It's a good thing that i was not paying otherwise I would have not been happy. It's overrated for what they serve. Their coffee was average. The portions were small and it cost us about $250 for lunch without drinks. I think there are much better restaurants in the city if you want to pay this kind of money. Parking was also hard to find.
Went to this place before shopping on Saturday morning. It was busy but we were seated right away. No wait. Got our coffee and ordered breakfast. Got french toast with eggs and hashbrowns. Nothing fancy about this. I was surpised as to what they charge. The breakfast cost us $36 for two. This is expensive for a very average breakfast. The french toast were ok and eggs were small. I will not go back. I must say that the service was good but the food was very average. We did not get any other drinks other than coffee. I thought this place was known for it's breakfast. There are much better places to go if you want to pay $40 for breakfast.
Went to James Street Grill for lunch. Had their meat platter and butter chicken. Both were very good. Also had their Mogo for appy which was good. Had chai and raas mal for dessert. It was a bit expensive for lunch as Indian/African food should not cost this much. I liked the food and they were not too busy at lunch time. I think maybe if we had their specials then these would have been fine also. I will go back.
Went to Vera's on weekend. They were closing in hour or so. They told us that the grill was not available so could not get saulted onions or mushrooms or grilled chicken burger. They were using the dirty rag to clean the counters and using the same rag to clean their hands and cook our food. I was not impressed at all. This place needs help and are not interested in the bussiness. Very disappointed and will not go back. They were interested in watching the BC Lions game. Food was not that great.
Went to this pub for Sunday afternoon meal. Had the chicken wrap and my friend had the Brie burger. Both were very good and service was good. Got our meals and drinks very quickly. I would go back. They had a 2 pieces of fish and chips for $5.99. Lots of people were ordering and they looked good but we did not have this. I think i may try their wing night as this sounds like a good deal. I think they are 39cents for wings. They place was not full but it was sunday afternoon. Lots of TV's and lots of football being played. Coffee was not bad also. The waitress was excellent.
Went to Days for late lunch and they have specials until 5pm. You can get your main dish with rice and spring roll. The food was very tasty. This is a hole in wall so don't expect much here. The booths and table are very 70's look. The service was ok. There was only one other table occupied. The food came very quickly and it was very tasty. I will go back and the price is right for this place. Had the chicken with cashews and basil beef. Their curries looked good but will try this next time.
Went on the sunday morning prior to the hockeye game. They have a breakfast special for $3.95 and you get 2 eggs, hashbrowns, toast and bacon or susage. I did not have any meat so they offered an extra egg or more hashbrowns. The breakfast was not bad but what do you expect for $3.95. Coffee was not bad. They had many other options and I will try these next time. i like this place compared to Bon's off Broadway. I will try a sandwich next time or other breakfast items. They also had steak and eggs for $7.95. Looked like many of the patrons were regulars there.
Went here for lunch on the weekend. The atmopshere is not that great. Paper plates etc. Their appy's were good and the service was good. I thought it was a bit expensive for what they gave you. Their mogo was good and beef balls. They gave a good coconut chutney with it. Looks like lots of take out orders. It's in a strip mall so parking is difficult.
Went for a quick dinner on saturday night. The place was busy and we were seated promtly. The atmosphere is good but the place is too loud. I had the pesto shrimp pasta and my friend had the steak sandwich. Both were very good. I really liked my pesto pasta as there was lots of garlic and olive oil. Nice drinking place if you just want to relax but it is loud. The pizza looked good so i would get this next time. Prices were reasonable.
Went for a quick meal before the hockey game. Had the Lamp chops, Chicken skewers and Najib's. It all came out quickly and food was excellent. The restaurant was not too busy when we got there but just as we were leaving it was busy. Great find and good food. Lots of choices and if you don't want to eat a big meal then this is good place. I will be back
Went to baseline for quick lunch on saturday afternoon. The place was not busy as there was only a soccer game on. My friend ordered the mushroom cheese burger and I ordered the chicken burger and both were very good. The fries were just ok and did not like them. The price was right and the service was not bad. The place was not packed. If i need a quick lunch then maybe visit again.
