No more Dim Sum
Submitted Monday, October 8, 2007 - 3:46am [Dine in]

My family and I have lived in the neighbourhood for a long time. We had patronized this restaurant up until they renovated this year. A year ago they charge $1.88 for each Dim Sum dish. It was delicious and great value. They then upped the price to $2.00 until they renovated the restaurant. They re-opened and had boosted the price again. While they were closed, I discovered the Dai Tung restaurant at 1050 Kingsway. Very reasonable and delicious food. I take 3 buses to get there, I won't be back here again. Vern

I discovered this location by shear accident when going from Costco to the Skytrain. I thought I would try to clog up my arteries a little. I had one of their special Fatburgers with a chocolate shake. Delicious burger, cheese extra, shake, small, but delicious. More than twice the price of MacDonald's equal but much tastier here. Vern

I have the all you can eat cod fish and chips every two weeks or so. Tremendous value Monday to Wednesday. I think I done 5 fish at most, bursting at the waist mind you. Very prompt service and piping hot food. Try for before twelve for best seating. Vern

I eat Dim Sum here about once a week or so. Fair value for delicious food. My favourite Dim Sum restaurant in Vancouver. Har Gow, Su Mai and sticky rice my favourites. I take 3 buses to get there. Their Shrimp Fried Rice has shrimp the size of my baby finger curled up and is it ever delicious. MMMMMMMMM GOOD Vern

My two friends and I eat there on a Friday night or Saturday noon, once a month, off and on for over one year now. My friends and I have never had bad or even poor service or mediocre or poor food. We would have not returned if we had, it's just that simple. I alone had one adventure, with the all you can eat rib nights. I could only eat 5 ribs worth. Too much of their great soup first and then huge ribs, they are the biggest I've ever seen, too much. The waitresses give the best service that I have come across in a family restaurant. Born and raised in Vancouver I have eaten at more than my share of local eateries and this rates a 9.5 out of 10. It is difficult to do a number as far as quality goes so I've done mine. Vern
