(2.8) (2.8) (3.3) (2.8) (2.5)Love the new Decor, a few details need looked @ though such as draping frayed edges need fixed. The washroom auto soap did not work. They did bring in a hand pump though.
The new salad I had was so great. Friend had another one & loved it. Main course was hot & perfectly done. Lots of flavour.
Service was a tad over zealous, making us feel a bit rushed.
WE have been a couple of times Not that busy so that should have been Clue 1. Service was okay, Surprised they did not trip on the fraying carpet. Clue 2 Friends who live close do not eat there. Food was warm not hot. Been for brunch as well, lots to choose from but not that great so a lot went unfinished. Value would be okay if food was better. Decor needs a serious update & judging by what I noticed so does the building itself.
We have been several times. My husband not a fan of rice got to get more spuds. I usually end up with some take home. Food is really good but the seating can be crowded on a busy night. The service is fantastic every time we have been there & the value is really good. He has the lamb each time & loves it. Never leave hungry.
Food 1/2 was cold not that great anyway. Service was slow & not that great. Staff seems nice enough just slow.
As for pain staking restoration as a Designer I was looking forward to seeing it & was really disappointed. Design choices- it was not so much restored as tried to make it look like it was. Unfortunately not that succesful. Nice pictures of the time period.
Kind of a waste could be so much better, everyone in party food was @ best adequate so none of us will be back. Better places where ambiance is better and so is food & service.
