A Nice Place to Go for Lunch
Submitted Saturday, March 3, 2012 - 2:24am [Dine in]

A cozy little neighbourhood restaurant in the Heights. We usually go here for their lunch box where you select three items for $8.95. My husband and I usually order the chicken karage, california roll and assorted tempura which also comes with a green salad with miso dressing, miso soup and a bowl of rice. We usually can't eat it all and have to ask for a "doggy bag". The green tea is free and refills are plentiful. There are alot of other items on the menu including a great selection of sushi, all at a reasonable price. They also have a nice menu selection for the kids. Give this place a try, you can't lose.

Breakfast on a Budget
Submitted Saturday, March 3, 2012 - 2:11am [Dine in]

My husband and I enjoy going to Jane's for breakfast. The decor is somewhat dated, the lighting is often quite dark and sometimes quite cold. But, who's complaining about the decor when you can get a nice, wholesome breakfast for $4.50 which comes with two eggs, toast, fried hash browns and your choice of sausage, bacon or ham. Between my husband and I, for $14.00 we have a nice and relaxing breakfast to carry us to a late meal. They also have a great selection on their lunch and dinner menus for a very reasonable price. We have had lunch and dinner at Jane's many time. You can choose from a wide variety of food including Chinese. If you're not fussy about decor give this place a try; you won't regret it.

A Nice Place to Try Out Lunch
Submitted Sunday, November 13, 2011 - 2:21am [Dine in]

This is a very small restaurant in the Parkcrest Shopping Plaza in North Burnaby near Broadway and Holdom. There's only a few booths and a coup of tables that will seat six at a table. It's usually quite busy at lunch because their lunch dishes are very reasonable. There's an assortment of dishes that come with either won ton or hot and sour soup. The hot and sour soup is very good, just the way I love it. The evening menu is a bit more pricey but all my friends agree with me, the food is very good. You won't be disappointed!

A Nice Find
Submitted Sunday, November 13, 2011 - 2:09am [Dine in]

This non-discript restaurant is hidden away in the Parkcrest Shopping plaza near Broadway and Holdom Street in Burnaby. For some reason it doesn't stand out but it's called RED 6 RESTAURANT. My hubby and I have been there a few times and each time we've gone we've had the udon soup which has been very tasty and served hot. We've had the seafood udon hot pot which comes in a cast iron pot steeping hot with ample seafood such as shrimps, fishballs, mussels and veggies. I've had the homemade broth and the miso broth and both are good. There's a good variety such as BBQ pork, beef kimchi, chicken curry and pork. They also have rice dishes. Our udon soups were $6.99, well worth the price.
