Italian pasta is usually cooked "al dente", and this restaurant claims to be traditional Italian. The fresh pasta was so soft and over cooked, (reheated ++?) it left the dish very mushy, too much sauce and not much substance- It was more like pureed food . The hospital serves better pasta dishes to their patients, sad to say! But there was plenty to eat. One order costs $19.95 feeds 2 people .And so you are full. But as my husband said - you can get full on Kraft Mac and cheese Dinner ! We were hungry , and as we're eating, we're trying to get something from the dish besides sauce - no real meat to say , and the pasta was dissintegrated- so it just made it like thickened sauce. Oh , there was a pile of melted cheese on top (a disguise ,I think), and the plate was very hot , but the food was Not! And plain white bread served. If you want Focaccia with Oil and Balsamic vinegar ,that's ~ $7, garlic bread (I can only imagine) -~$3. But all in all the wine and the Company was very good!
So we are searching for a restaurant that serves Lasagna the way most people make it - not a pile of noodles and sauce with cheese baked on top. Where is the dish with the defined layers , maybe some spinach ,some ricotta or cottage cheese . The search continues...

We went for the Valentines Couple's Four Course Meal - Table d'hote Only $79.90 per couple- Everything was great , till I tasted the "Black Truffle Scented Whipped Potatoes". At first I couldn't believe it but each taste confirmed it ,especially as they cooled off. My husband wasn't commenting but I eventually was eager to bet that it was and he confirmed , he knew they had to be INSTANT MASHED POTATOES!!!!!!! It made it feel like a TV Dinner- WHO SERVES INSTANT MASHED with an elegant meal - Absolutely NO EXCUSE..Sorry .And Truffled??????. The sous chef was out and about and talking to customers , but we hadn,t eaten yet. He didn't come back and rather than spoil a Romantic Dinner on Valentines , we said nothing, as the remainder of the meal was acutally DELICIOUS. The Pan seared Duck Fois Gras was exquisite(def:. Of such beauty or delicacy as to arouse intense delight).and it did..So all in all it was better than usual as we have been there at different times since we live in the area. I think I'll call the Chef though.
