We tried this restaurant for the first time but won't be returning. There are many other choices in Richmond.
The noise level of the "background music" was irritating. The seating in the dining area was cramped. The selection of local beer was the poorest I've seen anywhere in Richmond. The price for wine was ridiculously expensive - including what should have been average-priced brands.
The service was somewhat annoying as the waitress was interrupting us too frequently.
The food was average-to-good.
I don't recommend this restaurant.

I decided to check out the Italian Tomato restaurant in January to see how their food and service would be during what is traditionally the slowest month in the restaurant business.
I was pleased to see that both were similar to what I had experienced in my 2007 visits to this restaurant: the food was very good and arrived in a reasonable timeframe; the service continued to be friendly & efficient.
It was good to see that the place was almost full - evidently a lot of people continue to patronize this restaurant; for good reason.
I recommend the Italian Tomato Restaurant and will be going back in the months to come.
