So, this was my second time going to ALSO. The first time i went there for dinner it wasn't that memorable of a experience. My main concern was the food. The salmon tartar was mediocre, and my main course was too plain.
Even after this average experience, i decided to go back to ALSO, and it was much better.
The server was very helpful and polite. She knew the menu quite well, and recommended a much better entree than the one i had last time. The 'seafood jubalee'? was excellent. My 3 other friends had the duck breast, which was quite tender, the angus tenerloin, and chicken curry. I would definitely recommend asking for food recommendations from the server.
The drinks were pretty good. I had some cocktail, which i can't remember the name now, but it was very good. My 3 other friends had some white wine and martini. The drinks took a little long to come, maybe about 15 mins?
For desert we tried the panna cotta? and creme brulee. They were both very good. I definitely enjoyed the panna cotta more than the cream brulee. I recommend.
The decor is very nice, but the place was pretty big for the amount of people actually eating at the restaurant. There was about 4 other tables there, all spread apart.
The restaurant is a little pricey, so i wont be going there too often, but i would go again, maybe in a couple months. The restaurant is in a bit of a weird spot, since i live in burnaby/ vancouver area.
I'd go back again.
