Starter: Crab with avocado, grapefruit and smoked salmon. This was an exceptional appetizer. The combination was rich and delicious. 5/5
Main: Duck breast and duck confit. Again, delicious meal. Would have appreciated better veg, but the duck and sauce were very good. 4/5
Dessert: Honey parfait. Subtle and delicious. Other desserts at the table were equally impressive (Pear tart and chocolate mousse). 4.5/5
The restaurant isn't large, so the staff can be highly attentive. The servers were helpful and prompt, the water glasses were never empty and the meals were served quickly. Very good.
Wines appeared to be marked up 2-2.5x, which is perfectly acceptable in my book. Appys around 8-12, mains mid 20s and desserts under 10.
Highly recommended. Great little local restaurant with good value, great service and great food.

I love this place.
The best thing they serve are their grilled waffle sandwiches. In particular, though I think this is no secret, the chicken and brie waffle sandwich is amazing. I also quite like their cream cheese danish, rice pudding pies and belgian waffles with fruit and custard. Only downside is that their good stuff is usually gone by later in the afternoon, so try and get there early.

Overall, really happy with my experience with Rodneys and I will gladly come back. I came on a Sunday, which apparently has a random oyster on special for $1.50, which is a great price. So the oysters were good, and also came with some nice sauces.
As per the main, I had the pasta with scallops. Not a very complex dish, just some scallops in a spicy/cream sauce, but really tasty. My girlfriend has the potato encrusted halibut, which was definitely tasty but wasn't a very exciting dish.
Overall, tasty food and good service, but not a high end meal. Bill wasn't outlandish though so I would say try it.

I'll start this review by saying I happily drive over half an hour to eat here. The sushi is the freshest, largest and cheapest I know in and around Vancouver. I can't highly recommend this place enough.
My favourites are the Alaska roll and Toro nigiri, but almost everything is fantastic. Do try the sashimi if you love large portions of great fish.
