Akbar's Own Indian Restaurant1905 West Broadway, Vancouver
Great Restaurant to Frequent
Submitted Thursday, December 17, 2009 - 12:05am [Dine in]

This is by far one of the best Indian restaurants I have been to in Vancouver. This place is very cozy but the food is just amazing. I highly recommend the lamb dishes; especially the lamb vindaloo. The tandoori chicken is just as delectable and the naan is always perfect when it is delivered to our table. Make sure to try out their desserts as well. The rice pudding is just perfect and the gulab jamun is divine.

Twist on Japanese food
Submitted Wednesday, December 16, 2009 - 11:54pm [Dine in]

This place is located in the heart of kitsilano and is usually quite busy. It's best to go after the dinner rush or else you will end up waiting for a table. The great thing about this place is their unique sushi rolls. They literally have two pages worth of scrumptious rolls all with funky ingredients. The service was ok, but u get ur money's worth when you eat here. As for ambiance, it is not the best looking restaurant around. It is quite dark and mysterious but the funky pictures and merchandise really make it feel cozy

This place is great for lunch or quick stops for dinner. The menu has a wide selection of choices and most of the sushi is pretty standard. The bbq squid for an appetizer was splendid!!! The food did take awhile to reach our table but the waiter was very helpful in explaining the different types of rolls avaliable
