Cold & wet Sunday afternoon we decided to try Slainte By The Pier. They had a lunch stew special for $7.95. When we arrived there were only a couple tables full with one server working. After we ordered our lunch stew and salmon bites the placed filled up. We thought it was a good thing we beat the rush. Little did we know what was going to happen. About 20 minutes after taking our order server apologized asking again what we ordered. This was after she had taken orders of the other tables. We waited over an hour after everyone else received there’s. Table next to us who came after us was finished their meal before we received our stew. By this time we notice the food service was very slow. When I asked about receiving our salmon bites before our meal she gave me a blank look. We cancelled the salmon bites. When stew arrived it was in a soup bowl with no bread. The stew was good but not a huge portion. Assuming this was the lunch portion I did not say anything. When we receive the bill the stew was dinner portion for $13.95 each. When I asked the server about the lunch portion she said it was super small. When she took our order she did not ask us which stew portion we wanted and I assumed we ordered the lunch stew. The amount of stew we received was NOT worth $13.95. We complained to the server and manager about the how long our meal took. Both apologized but not sincerely and comp tea & coffee. We will never go back as this place was portion are small for what you pay for and food service is EXTREMELY slow. Need to pay for at least 2 hours for parking
Very small portions and over priced. The food was OK but nothing special for the prices they charging expecially the desserts. Our server was excellent. The annoying host kept on visiting our table while we were trying to visit with friends. When the host asked my friend how’s the Crab Cake entrée? My friend replied OK and there’s too much filler. The host gave her a strange look and walked away with no response! Skip the noveau cuisine Harbour House because there are far better resturants in Crescent Beach.
Recently I have celebrated two birthdays at The Vault. Both times everyone thought their food and service was excellent including my sister-in law who is the picky one. Seafood mix grill is my favorite. The only downside is their dessert selection is lacking for dessert lovers. The Vault has a Yaletown feel with out the outrages pricing or the snobby servers. We have recommended The Vault to all our friends and will be returning soon.
Sabai Thai has the best Thai food in Surrey and is very reasonable priced. We have been to Sabai Thai over 20 times and each times has been enjoyable experience. I would recommend the wonton appetizer and cashew chicken.
