La Bocca4232 Village Stroll, Whistler
Mislead by good reviews....
Submitted Wednesday, August 5, 2009 - 3:09pm [Dine in]

On a recent trip to Whistler, we decided to try out La Bocca. I had read the reviews on here and it seemed like a sure bet. Unfortunately we were extremely mislead. I ordered a garden salad and flat bread, both $14. If I'm paying $14 for a garden salad, it better be the best salad I've ever had, however, it was just some dirt tasting mixed greens and kraft raspberry vinegrette. I couldn't even finish it due to the overwhelming taste of dirt and low quality ingrediants. My fiancee tried the spaghetti bolognese for $23. It consisted of about a cup of pasta and a 1/4 cup of meat sauce...I think that speaks volumes for the low quality of this restaurant. Go here if you want crappy food that is extremely overpriced and don't be fooled by an exotic looking menu and all the people on the patio, they are probably just drinking the $10 martinis and beers and too drunk differentiate between quality food and crap.

Moxie's Grill & Bar8828 201 Street, Langley
Not Great
Submitted Saturday, July 4, 2009 - 2:07pm [Dine in]

I go to Moxie's once in a while because you usually don't have to wait to be seated. I guess that should be a hint right there. For the most part the waitresses seem to be more concerned with hiking their skirts up and doing their make up. I think I've had one decent waitress in all the times I've been there. If you go, expect to get seated right away but then have to wait 10-20 minutes for a waitress to even acknowledge you. I suggest ordering drink and meals at the same time because you might not see the waitress for a while. Surprisinly the higher end meals like steak, halibut, and salmon are always nicely done. The salads can be horrendous at best, usually drenched in dressing and filled with random chunks of food that doesn't go together. All in all it can be really hit and miss, but generall a miss.

Coza! Tuscan Grill20065 Langley Bypass, Langley
Excellent Food/Service
Submitted Thursday, May 21, 2009 - 5:40pm [Dine in]

If you are looking for something different than your average restaurant outing, I suggest Coza Tuscan Grill. It is definately not your run of the mill Italian places, the menu is very diverse and offers a great selection. I had the chicken and grape salad, which was served on a flatbread, very delicious and different. My other half had the steak and prawns, steak cooked to perfection. Good portions and very well priced. They also offer share plates, great for couples or groups and very reasonable. Service was also great, very attentive and friendly. Also, this is one of the few places that takes reservations, we were able to make a reservation on the day of and were seated upon arrival.

Milestone's Grill and Bar20075 Langley Bypass, Langley
Horrendous
Submitted Saturday, May 9, 2009 - 11:59am [Dine in]

I have been a loyal Milestone's diner since it opened several years ago. However, since they changed their menu about 2 years ago, the food and service has gone downhill. I have had 5 bad restaurant experiences in my life, 4 of them at Milestone's in Langley. Last night was the last nail in the coffin for me. We arrived at 7pm on a Friday night to be seated almost immediately to our surprise. Ordered drinks which arrived promptly and an appetizer, which did take longer than normal considering it was chips and salsa, not that difficult to whip together. Then we proceeded to wait one and a half hours for salad and a burger. When my salad arrived they had forgotten to make the salmon for it and decided they weren't going to make it. The salad was also drenched in dressing. Completed unedible. Since it was almost 9 o'clock at that point I decided not to wait for a remake and left the restaurant. I will never go back to Milestone's again after this horrendous experience.
