BLAMES & Charges You for THEIR Mistake!
Submitted Wednesday, May 14, 2014 - 12:52pm [Take-out]

I understand it's a busy lunch hour, but that's no excuse to mess up on my order and then charge and BLAME me for it. I made it clear when I got to the counter that I wanted a Chicken Teriyaki Salad. The lady even put the chicken in the microwave!!! (as the other was putting my salad together). I got to the cashier who asked the others behind the counter in THEIR own language (Hindi?) what my order was. I assumed you knew what you were doing - you proved me wrong.

I paid and left assuming all was in order. Well, I opened my salad - there's NO CHICKEN...okay fine so I go back, I get it, mistakes happen, we all make mistakes. So I kindly line up AGAIN and when I get to the counter the same lady looks all confused. She looks in the microwave and lo' and behind there's MY chicken!!! She doesn't look me in the eyes and instead stands there confused looking from side to side. So she DUMPS the whole piece into my salad and hands it back to me. In the meantime, I get to the cashier again and this time she claims she told me my order was a "Veggie Delight" and of course I tell her otherwise so she says instead "ya ya, jus' gimme thee money". No apology from either of them. I would have happily paid the extra $2 or so had I received some apology or customer service. Where's the common courtesy??? I'm NEVER going back to that Subway!!!

Pretty Good
Submitted Wednesday, July 20, 2011 - 1:12am [Dine in]

I work right by this restaurant and I would say given my office has tried, eat-in and take-out that this place is good in almost every category.

Food:

We've ordered party trays for the office and I've ordered rolls for myself. My supervisor orders Chicken Teriyaki a lot. For the party trays they come with everything you need, there's a large assortment of rolls and in varying sizes (or styles you could say). They have some interesting rolls but something for everyone. They also provide complimentary edamame beans with party trays. I enjoy their Maki Combo A (Dynamite and California Rolls) and I would say they are tasty (not too much mayonaise, moist and seaweed isn't chewy), and reasonably sized.

During 'eat-ins' there is complimentary miso soup available.

Service:

Now this is debatable, I personally have no problem getting up to get my own tea and miso soup from the large pot as it's a very casual, friendly sort of place but this could bug some people...in which case I believe they will get it for you. In terms of speed, food does come quickly.

Value:

Decent

Ambiance:

Now, the lady who seems to be the owner is very friendly and very energetic even the extent of hyper. I think she's very nice although, when I'm hungry I'm not in the mood to chit chat but I've seen that she chats with other customers and has quite a bit of knowledge about them implying they come often or that they know each other outside of the restaurant but based on her poor speaking in English I doubt it. Her staff also repeat your order in session so it's a bit noisy in there but relatively amusing. The decor is very basic with many photos of the restaurant's friends and of course photos of their menu. There are no booths and the place probably seats no more than 10 - 15 patrons at a time.

All in all I would recommend this establishment if you're looking for a very casual, fast-paced restaurant with great food.

Terrible Food
Submitted Wednesday, July 20, 2011 - 12:51am [Dine in]

I went to this restaurant yesterday, it looked nice from the outside and was decent on the inside. We sat outside as it was a nice day and there was a nice view.

The food to say the least is highly overpriced, although I expected it to be somewhat higher due to the location. At other restaurants usually the price matches the quality and, or portion size. Unfortunately, this was the not the case. My friend ordered Chicken Teriyaki and I ordered two standard rolls - Dynamite and Yam Tempera. It appears the waitress may have misunderstood my friend since he received a Bento Box instead.

Let's start with my friend's meal $12:

- not very much chicken
- the chicken appeared to be steamed or boiled and then a teriyaki sauce smeared on top (usually they grill/crisp the chicken somehow)
- one entire compartment of this bento box was taken up by a 'bowl shaped' mound of rice...usually they put this underneath the chicken as rice is usually complimentary
- 3 pieces of a California Roll (most places seem to provide a full roll and, or a combination of other rolls), also note California Roll had a chunk of imitation crap as opposed to shredded however this could be just the way they do this
- very small salad (pretty normal)
- some form of gelatin like transparent noodles

My meal $15 ($8 Dynamite Roll, $7 Yam Tempera Roll):

- small sizes
- seaweed on the outside made it chewy
- generally not very tasty

It's hard to mess up these rolls, but I was looking for something more with these given the price. I also had trouble getting the waitress to come over with some water and spent a few minutes waving my arm in the air in the hopes of one of the two servers in an empty restaurant (expected on a Monday) to come over...

I'm sorry but bottom line is I won't be coming back. Next time I will be trying the other sushi place nearby.
