Good food. Creepy Service
Submitted Monday, April 12, 2010 - 9:45pm [Dine in]

Came here the other evening for a "Girls night out" The inside was all booked up but luckily we got a seat on the heated patio. I did have a chance to have a peak inside. Just another trendy Yaletown restaurant. Nothing amazing though. Service was not up to par with other Glowbal establishments. I have always been impressed but not this time. The server was trying to pull the "cool guy" act and ended up creeping us all out. The busboys were also creepy. I understand this is a more casual joint but everyone we dealt with (not including the hostess) seemed to lack professionalism. Despite that the food was pretty good. I had the mac and cheese balls (delicious) and primerib burger (wish the server would have offered a side salad as an option though).

I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews. We've been going here since we moved to the area mid 2009. After trying some other sushi joints in the area, we have decided this is THE place we always get sushi from. Best prices for the quality of roll. 75% of the time we get takeout and it has always been fresh and on time. But when we have taken friends out for dinner the staff has always been friendly and food just as good. The only suggestion is I wish it was open a bit later so that I could pick up a roll after late work nights. I HEART DaiSushi.

Great friday night
Submitted Thursday, October 22, 2009 - 2:59pm [Dine in]

I went there last Friday night and was plesantly surprised. We went around 7pm and had no problem getting a table. The ambiance was very warm and inviting with the candlelight lighting and rugs on the walls. We sat at a very low table which was interetesting because we were eating at the same table as some other customers. That night they had an amazing trio playing live music for us. My friend and I shared two eastern plates which were delicious and filling. These plates come with soup, roti, salad, rice and two sides. We had lamb kebab, chicken masala, mangobutternut squash and cauliflower. YUM! I will be coming back for sure....

Good looks, poor service
Submitted Thursday, October 22, 2009 - 2:42pm [Dine in]

I have been to this restaurant twice so far. The first time was an alright experience. I went with two girlfriends in the middle of the week. There was only two or three other tables there in this huge place. Service was good (but what would you expect with no business that night) and the food was ok. I found that their menu wasn't very interesting or diverse. The plates are small. One dish in particular - the chicken cannelloni was tasteless. The next time I went there was because I was invited to a larger dinner with about 7 people. We went on a friday night and the place was much more busy, but not all the tables were full. It took the waitress one hour to tell us that they didn't have any calamari left. By this time we were starving...some of us had already been there for two hours with no food. We asked if we could speak to the manager who offered us nothing in terms of making us feel better about the situation. No complimentary appetizers or discount on our meal as other more reputable establishments would have offered us. All he said was that they were "over capactiy"...which they weren't because there were still some empty tables. We paid for our drinks with no tip and went to the pizza place across the street because we needed food in us right away. I will not go to circa again and would never recommend this place. There are so many better establishments to try in the city.
