Great Wings and Very Good Pizza
Submitted Sunday, January 8, 2012 - 10:02am [Dine in]

Knock me down and call me Susie, thats a wing. I'd say they were almost the best wings I've ever had, and I'm a wing guy. The pizza was very good too and I will make this place my go to. The guy on the phone was friendly and called back a couple of times to make sure that he got everything right. It was appreciated. Regarding ambiance I have no idea if it was good or bad as I ordered take out. When it comes to pizza, nor do I really care.

This is a great story. Hats off to those involved in revitalizing this "joint" akin to it's former glory. This is a great addition to this neighborhood.

The food that I've had so far was (1st visit) The best breaky that I didn't make myself (2nd visit) pretty damn good. The first time I dined here I had the hash browns with the poached egg on top and it was awesome. I recommend getting another egg as one is not enough. My second visit, I had a bacon cheese burger which was quite good - the only thing was that the bun was a tad too much. The servers are friendly and they get things done... eventually. But really who cares about that, you're not coming here to experience fine dining. Lastly, as a new parent the menu for kids looks like it's the best in town and when they eventually get teeth (my kids that is) this will be a staple. People, get out of your little shells and come down and eat with some East Enders - they've got funny stories to tell. Overall, this place should be supported in a huge way.

Absolutely Horrible

The only reason why I went to this place is because it's close to work. Anybody who says that it's fresh obviously didn't see the mass of pre-made rolls on the counter which is clearly visible from the area where you pay. The rolls have a tonne of rice and not much flavour. This place is gross and hopefully will go under so that something better will come along.

First off, I place much more weight in how I view a restaurant on the food and if the service doesn't cause a problem then that is good enough for me. Having known about this place for sometime now, yesterday - 8/26/2011 - I decided to give it a shot. I hate to say it but, you can tell that the Chefs are real live Japanese people. The care and skill that they take to prepare the food is evident and so are the menu offerings. I gave my wife a choice b/n Aji Sashimi (sounds delicious) or Black Cod Miso (was delicious) and we had tuna tatake and a couple of rolls. The rolls weren't all rice with a little bit of the main ingredients in the middle - no it was a nice balance. To give you an idea of how good this place is, to me, Torarenbo in Richmond would be a 10 and Sushi Kimira on Rupert and 22nd would be a 9, this place would be a 9 as well. Most other sushi restaurants that are run by "asians" (as if we can't tell the difference b/n who they are - what do they think we're stupid???) that churn out bulk crap would be a 5 in comparison. If you like good sushi, support this place and keep it going.

PS - although I ordered take out I didn't order until I got there so I spent 20 minutes in the dining room and the Japanese rock was a nice touch.
