I work nearby, so every time I crave for sushi, I'd come here. They've got nice and fresh sashimi, and GREAT selections of rolls. I really their food, but the only reason that hesitates me from buying there all the time is because of the price.
The food they have is quite decent, but at the same price, if at same distance, I'd rather go down to Shyun on Lougheed for sushi.
Their spicy tuna is awesome!!!
I am not so much of a microwave or instant food eater, but now a days, it's hard to get very cheap food unless you stick with a "California Roll" or perhaps some bread from a random bakery. This place serves more of, I'd say, and Asian style pasta. The owner, as I recall, is Korean, so there's this "Spicy Seafood Pasta" (don't think that's the exact right name) taste a bit like Korean style seafood noodle. I also love their Curry Bombay, and their Risotto (Even thou the rice is totally just Chinese rice). It is a bit greasy, but wel, can't really complain when it's only about 7 bucks per person and that includes the tips and taxes.
Besides the food, I love their drinks, mocha, and peanut butter mocha.
The soup is horrible, the salad is okay, just cause they've got some dressing that's a bit different.
I like their calamari, don't remember how much is it, but it's cheaper than most of the places, and it doesn't taste too bad. Not in good presentation thou.
Their pan-fried mozzarella cheese looks okay, but it doesn't taste right.
I used to go there a lot when I was still in high school, but never decided to write a review until now. This place used to feed me good with a california roll costs only 3 bucks plus some tax, which are huge and is the perfect portion for my lunch. But after visiting this place too too many times, I realized the head chef, who is always at the sushi bar, has some pretty bad habit. He likes to go out and have a smoke, and WITHOUT washing his hands, heads right back to his sushi bar. I've seen it too many times. So, just some friendly reminder, but it's your choice to continue visiting this place or not. btw, they have great donburi =)
I love hot pots and I was very happy when they decided to open this restaurant in Coquitlam, which means I don't have to travel all the way to at least Burnaby to get my all-you-can-eat hot pot. However, the one and only visit has completely changed my mind.
The server was horrible that he walked up to us, stared at us when we are about to finish. He picked up the scoop and started stirring our soup without asking "may I". We were about to get a few more plates of pork, but his action completely killed our appetite. NO MORE HORRIBLE SERVICE, so never going to go again.
serves really good ShuChuan and Shanghai food, not exactly traditional, but good enough in the neighborhood, so I don't need to drive all the way to Richmond or NorthVan for such food. I've been visiting this place since its first grand open. Not the best choice for non-asian or non-chinese people thou. leaning towards more local chinese food lovers.
it's a very small place, but it's good for just simple family dining. i'd say it'd be better if just like, having a quick lunch. even when it's very busy, the speed of service and food quality is still quite good. i'd suggest anyone who wants cheap but decent sushi to come here.
