A Different Kind of Place
Submitted Monday, May 23, 2011 - 1:28am [Dine in]

My girlfriend randomly found out about this place online. Online menu look pretty good so we decided to check it out. When we got there it was packed. It was a good thing my girlfriend made reservations. It says on their website "they will try their best to accommodate your reservation," so expect to wait.

This place is tiny and the decor is really interesting! I liked the mish mash vintage look. Luckily for us we got our own table. There were two other parties that were sharing the same long table with only a paper partition between them. There isn't a whole lot of room to move around so expect to sit elbow to elbow with the people around you.

I have nothing bad to say about the food presentation and quality. My apple pie came out nice and warm, all the dessert came out at the same time and my friend's white chocolate cheesecake was delicious.

I also enjoyed sipping my coffee out of their vintage china tea cups.

I would definitely go back. But, I wouldn't go there with any more than 4 people in our party.

Overall a Good Experience

Newbie to Nuba. It was our first time eating here so we didn't know how busy it would be. We got to the restaurant around 9pm and was initially told that it would be a 30min wait. The hostess let me know that we could sit at the bar and order off the full menu. As soon as she saw that I didn't like that idea (from the look on my face) she went away and talked to her manager and managed to split apart a table (from a large party) just so we could sit down right away. We were off to a good start. Our server was attentive and informative...she didn't wow me but that was fine.

Food was tasty. I was surprised by how similar it is to Greek food. I expected something different. Our dessert pastries were a little too sweet for my liking. And for that price, the dessert portion was quite small.

The decor gives off a cozy romantic feel. Overall, my husband and I had a good time and we would definitely go back again.

Servers with Attitude
Submitted Thursday, March 10, 2011 - 11:20pm [Dine in]

We ate in for the first time the other day, and I will never eat here again! When I asked for a refill on my tea, the waitress looked at me with a scowl on her face. I thought that maybe she didn't understand me, so I repeated my request. She then walked away and I waited and waited and the tea never came. I know it wasn't a language barrier since this same waitress was speaking English to someone else! Then when I paid for my meal, the cashier doesn't even utter a word to me..no 'thank you'? I would rather pay more and get good service then to save a little money and eat in a restaurant where the servers give you attitude. Does the management team/owner not realize that a little customer service will go a long way (ie. more tips, happy customers, customers that will keep coming back!)
