Havent been to PP in a while and decided to to go today for a snack before the hockey game on tv. Ordered the chicken wings, butter beef salad rolls and steamed crepes. As usual everything was excellent ! Love the family service which is always top notch. Craving cambodian again, maybe I'll head back tomorrow !
After watching the canucks game we were looking for a place to grab a bite and more drinks in Yaletown. Already was at Rodneys earlier in the week so we came across Charm. Snappy and vibrant new joint across the street from Rodneys and actually located across the street from my condo.
Decent selection with lots of modern twists. Having already ate dinner and looking for a light snack to go with our Singha beers we asked our waitress for some appetizer suggestions.
She was Bang on !
Beef carpaccio was truly amazing served on a basil leaf with minced garlic and red chillis. The duck confit spring rolls another one the of waitresses suggestions was great too.
Will be back to try the rest of the menu. Two thumbs Up !
Soma as they call it now has changed dramatically. Noticed a new Modern Filipino restaurant and couple of new joints up and down Main from King Ed down to 8th. My colleague suggested I hit this new place on Main called Zakkushi. From what I hear, they have other locations in the city. Excellent Food and skewers but parkings tough. Decent priced drinks and sake list. All in all very good value !
Having dined at Jean Georges established eateries in New York city during my 2 year stint there I'd have to say Market is overall much better than his New York eateries. Better value and portions, however the service is somewhat lacking compared to NYC. Glad to see Vancouver gaining more notoriety worldwide with reputable Michelin star chefs opening up shop here.
After coming back to Vancouver and living back in yaletown hit up the new Earls yesterday. Beautiful new room considering it used to be a Mavi jeans store but the service needs improvement. Expensive dinner plates with average service. Prefer the Earls as they used to be, concentrating on serving good food rather.
Rodneys has always been a favourite or ours. Having recently just moving back to the city after working in New York was craving Oysters.
Settling back in Yaletown decided to hit Rodneys friday night. Excellent service with top notch Kushi's !
Reasonable for Yaletown and much more reasonable than eating oysters at Blue Water. Comfy joint but needs a revamp in the dining room. All in all, thumbs up !
Been here a few times although parking is tough I;d have to say this is probably one of Richmonds best for Dim Sum. Service is hit or miss but the Food makes up for it.
Actually prefer this location above their vancouver granville street location. Somehow the food seems bigger in portion. If only Radisson could improve the parking situation.
All in all everything was above average. Service and Ambience were definately on the plus side. Menu is unique offering customers to order by the ounce which is quite rare ( No pun intended ).
Overall as a new establishment, IM sure they'll work out their kinks.
Great dining room with 3 distinctive rooms, lounge, main dining room and kitchen room.
Will be back to try the oyster bar !
Give it some time and IM sure Goldfish will soon be alot better. Hit this joint last night and was not overlly excited about the food. Service was good but most of the food was delayed and served almost 50 mins apart bewteen the appys and the mains. Hopefully after some time and the kitchen getting the kinks out this place should be an exciting Yaletown eatery. I'll come back in 2 months to give it another try and hopefully this time, I wont wait more than 20 minutes between the appy and main entree.
Well Feenies truly lives up to its hype ! Amazing room that is sleek yet modern. And the Food ? Well, its truly delicious. Their menu is simple with Robs faves which includes a Hamburger that has sides offered such as Poutine for $3 more and can u beleive it, Foie Gras for $25 in your Burger ! Let me tell you ! Its was the most delicious burger I;ve tasted. Truly unique ! Their raviolli was also tasty although the 4 pieces were way too small. Thy the Negroni, campari and gin !
Our friends told us about this deal at the Urban Thai in yaletown so we went for lunch there last weekend. They have this incredible deal for only $11.95 for an all you can eat lunch with I think 20 choices ranging from appetizers to dishes to dessert. Overall amazing value that is probably the best in the city! This is our new weekend lunch spot ! By the way, make reservations or be prepared to wait.
Both Bins have been noted for reliable food and service. Their wine list is decent with lots of wines by the glass selection. Menu offers a decent varierty or different assemblies. Service is always great and this is the place to bring a date for that romantic yet casual encounter !
Popped by the Richmond Cactus for drinks and dessert. Seated promptly by the underage hostess who was on her first day of the job. Decent beer selection but this place needs more attentive servers who are of age. The servers seem like they're partying while they're working... They bunch up and ignore all the customers. Thumbs Down.. Would prefer the West Broadway and Ash or granville location.
This place probably serves up, I mean steams up, the Best Shiu Loong Bau in town. Shiu Loong Bau is a traditional Shanghainese steamed dumpling with pork meat. Very unique dishes and I would probably say one of the Best Chinese food in town. Make reservations or be prepared to wait ! Big Thumbs Up !
We were there for a work gathering saturday night and my goly what a new and unique place. I've heard of this place before but didn;t imagine how unique this concept is. After coming back home to do some research on rodizio it seems this concept is very popular all around the world. Imagine all you can eat BBQ'd meats with a salad bar. The sausages and sirloin were top notch. Salad bar needs work but hey the meats definately make up for it. Try the caprina drink thats made with lime and vodka I think. Big thumbs up ! They also have live entertainment on weekends. Total party place for any occasion. Cheers !
This place has been on Robson for a long time but yet I never seemed to know what this restaurant was all about until yesterday. Located above the Robson street Cactuc Club is Zefferellis. Overrated joint with average food. Service was decent but I guess Cactus Club attracts more business than this place.
Although I'm a regular and lover of steaks and Italian, La Terrazza is on my A List. Beautiful decor inside with a very elegant cocktail bar area. Portions are reasonable and the prices are moderate for the location. Service is always good here. Big Thumbs Up !
Great beer list and decent food but thats about it. Service is horendous and needs some serious improvement. Server did not even say thank you when picking up the payment. Server must've been tired or unhappy to be working. Not worth recommending. If you;re looking for a brew pub, your best bet would be Yaletown Brewery !
After hearing all the rave about this place we deciced to try this place out. Situated beside their mainstay Vijs in South Granville. Personally IMHO I feel this place is totally overrated. The service was very slow and obnoxious and food was decent at best.
Busy joint and be prepared to wait if you're planning on going friday or satursday. Prime time hits around 7pm til 10pm. Great specials, great concept and more importantly great food and great service. I can see why this is one of the more happening places to be. Pretentious crowd and more of a late 20's hip crowd. Thumbs Up !
