Fantastic value!

I think this is the best of all the Thai Away Home locations. Great food, cheap prices, clean, cheerful, wonderful friendly staff! I highly recommend the Tom Kha Gai soup (delicious - kaffir lime, galungal, coconut milk, mushrooms, chicken and cilantro...Mmmmmmmmm!). I also really like the satay sticks, red curry, yam curry, beef salad is pretty good (Sawasdee on Main is better though), and the "Crunchy munchy salad" is awesome (actually ALL of the salads are pretty amazing). Go there, you'll be happy you did. Take-out is what I recommend.

Absolute sweetheart people work at this place. If you go twice then they'll have your take-out order memorized - that impressed me. Here's what I love and recommend people order: Tom Kha Gai soup, Beef salad (best in city - Sawasdee grills the beef so that it has the most delicious grilled, slightly smokey flavour....it's sort of a tie with "O-Thai which also makes an awesome version of this dish), all the curries, chicken satay skewers with peanut sauce, green papaya/mango salad, and my best friend swears by the cashew chicken dish. Decor is very Thai and feels really authentic. It doesn't hurt that all the people who work at Sawasdee are Thai AND really good at their jobs - hardworking and totally efficient, charming and hospitable. Clean washrooms too. Also the wait time for food is fast.

AWESOME restaurant!

Excellent food, really nice unobtrusive service and seriously good value for my money! You absolutely have to try the Beef salad which is utterly dreamy....I've ordered this all over the city and this is one of the two best places in the city to order it...they use a really good cut of beef to make it and the quality shows - piquant with the lime dressing and the tomato, lettuce, onion and cucumber. - seriously, you have to try their particular "take" on Thai beef salad - it'll knock your socks off. Also, I highly recommend the Tom Kha Gai soup (fantastic - perfect blend of flavours and lots of kaffir lime leaf), the chicken skewers and the red curry. The servers are super nice, the decor is quite elegant and relaxing (a bit minimalist) the washrooms are clean....I just can't think of anything negative to say! Do yourself a favour and go there and order the beef salad and the Tom Kha Gai soup (and whatever else you fancy, I guess...!). Mmmmm....and wash it down with a lovely glass of mango juice.

Great place - fantastic roast lamb dinner!

OK, fist of all the food is delicious, served in large portions and it's really authentic Greek cuisine. I totally recommend the roast lamb (fabulous!), the baked lasagna with meat balls and the kalamari appetizer (it's all really good but those are the items that I order over and over because they're so yummy). Second of all the wait staff are very attentive and genuinely nice. The staff knows all the regular customers by name and often you can often see the owner/chef and his brothers and sisters (who all work there) shaking hands or hugging customers they haven't seen for a while....it's a family place with a lot of heart.

Sure the decor isn't going to win any awards (but it's not bad, just comfortable), but hey, you go there for the wonderful food (or maybe you get the great pizza or greek food delivered when you feel to lazy to cook). This is a family restaurant and the nice thing is they're really accomodating...so you could bring your kids and have a family meal or you could have an awesome large party celebration and they can easily give you a reservation for 30 people (make a reservation first though, of course).

What I love about this place is they will do their absolute best to make you happy...if there is ever a problem they will fix it right away. Try this warm family place out, it's totally worth a try.
