A Must Try
Submitted Tuesday, June 30, 2009 - 9:02pm [Dine in]

I was amazed how busy this place was both on the deck and inside the restaurant. They had all kinds of well dressed servers offering great service. The menu is not vast but I had no problems choosing a great lunch. Nice quiet background music and the cleanest washrooms I have seen for ages. THe staff were so polite and made us feel very welcome.

We were greeted at the door by two young ladies and our server was there in less than a minute. The drinks came just as quick. Soon after that our drinks were filled up at no charge and the food appeared in a few minutes with the server right there checking on the quality of the food. On the way out the Manager/ Owner checked to see if we were happy as did the ladies out front. I think the restaurant is geared for the young crowd in the evenings but was great for all ages at lunch time.

Haven't been to Troll's for many years & I think it has improved. We got a seat at the window and it was great watching the ferries coming & going. I think our server was there the last time I visited many years ago & she offered super service. I notice lots of customers were there & they had lots of servers working so we didn't wait very long for our food

Went there for lunch today & there was a huge line so I was going to exit but noticed how well the three servers moved the line. It cost me $ 5.95 for a huge Burrito which was very filling and tasted just great. I am glad I only ordered the medium hot sauce as it was quite zesty and was just the right choice. I will return the next time I am in the area

Bring Me The Bill
Submitted Friday, April 17, 2009 - 6:21pm [Dine in]

I was in a hurry so when the server brought me lunch I asked for the bill. I waited & waited even raising my hands. Finally she got the message ten minutes later but really didn't care. I frequent many of the various White Spot locations and find this is the most inconsistent I don't really care for the ambience of this restaurant compared with the other White Spots.

Went for lunch this week and ordered the lunch box for $ 7.95. It was the largest lunch box I have ever seen and included soup, tea and some fruit. I was so full and content as the ambience was great with nice back ground music and fantastic service. The restaurant is very new so naturally it sparkles with cleanliness. My lunch companion mentioned that a couple of times he walked away as it was so busy but the day I was there it was about 75 % full. I shall return

What A Suprise
Submitted Friday, March 6, 2009 - 11:51am [Dine in]

I have eaten across the street at Hon's for many years. Yesterday I tried this restaurant and was quite suprised. It was lunch and the place was packed but they had lots of servers to deal with this busy place. The servers were all very well dressed and all of them had good English skills. The restaurant was bright & clean and the food was good & well priced.

As soon as I entred this restaurant I was impressed. You place your order at the counter where there was three people serving up the Donairs. The portion was huge with nice fresh vegetables and loads of chicken. Hot sauce was an option that I ordered and indeed it is hot!! I understand this place is very busy between 12.00 - 12.30 every day so try not to visit during those hours

Getting Better !!
Submitted Friday, February 13, 2009 - 4:00pm [Dine in]

Ihave gone to this buffet diner many times over the years and today it seemed better. Naturally you can eat as much food as you want for under $ 10.00 at lunch but Dinner will cost you more. They have lots of selections and today my server must have filled my water glass at leat four times which was a first. The food is average but it is a great place to eat if you are in a hurry as you don't have to wait for your food to be cooked.

Submitted Wednesday, February 11, 2009 - 3:53pm [Dine in]

The restaurant has just changed ownership and they new owners are very nice but improvements are needed. The food was not hot and just didn't taste very good. It was served quickly but I never saw the server again. I was there early and was the only customer and it seemed there was no heat and maybe that's why my meal was so cold.

Cheap Lunch
Submitted Saturday, February 7, 2009 - 2:04pm [Dine in]

This restaurant offers three lunch specials, one comprises three differnt dishes for $ 5.75. The owner/ manager is very nice and waits tables with one other person so when they get busy it can slow down. Allthough it is a Chinese restaurant you rarely see any Asians which is rather strange. Nice and clean including the wash rooms.

Submitted Thursday, February 5, 2009 - 9:55pm [Dine in]

This restaurant has been in business since 1926 and hasn't chaged the menu in years. A great place to bring visitors as it is very interesting place with lots of history. They are famous for the huge burgers, Yukon Breakfast, Old Fashioned Shakes and Home Made Pies. We had a nice lunch with good service and for the first time very few customers which made it far more relaxing

Submitted Tuesday, February 3, 2009 - 2:21pm [Dine in]

I have driven by this place countless times but this is the first time that I tried it. It is quite a large restaurant as it was a Knight & Day for many years. There were lots of servers as it was very busy. They had lunch specials starting at $ 5.95 - $ 8.95. My order arrived in a few minutes & I noticed they were filling coffee cups for those who had ordered coffee. I would consider this to be a up scale Denny's but much better. I shall return.

Best Sandwich Ever !!
Submitted Thursday, January 22, 2009 - 5:35pm [Dine in]

I ordered a large sub which I think was $ 7.95. One person can get two meals from this sandwich. Great fresh vegetables, excellent bread and some good roast beef. The server was really friendly but you can't eat there as it is a grocery store/ deli. I will be back there every time I am in the area.

Have gone here for years to have lunch. You can get two good sized pieces of cod and great fries for $ 7.95. Only one server who takes cash, makes drinks but manages to still give great service. They also do all you can eat some days as well as the regular menu. If you like cole slaw they do the best I have ever eaten. Will always return

This location has only been open for a few months & I have visited it many times for lunch. The two gals who work the lunch shift are great, always very friendly and offering excellent service. The menu is very limited but offers great Burritos for under $ 7.00. You can select from the various toppings and they are made while you watch. Everything always seems fresh and you can get your food in less than five minutes

Submitted Monday, November 10, 2008 - 10:08pm [Dine in]

This place has been located at Lonsdale Quay for many years. There is always 4-6 people making soup much of which is sold to other restaurants and institutions. You can get a large bowl of soup and a good sized bread roll for under $ 5.00. You can also get frozen or fresh soup to take home for under $ 4.00. Great tasting soup and only natural ingredcients are used

I have been to may of the ayce fish & chip places and this one is average. Naturally you can get as much as you want but the initial serving is very small comprised of four very small pieces of fish & very few chips. Even the beverage, in my case a coke ,was fairly small , especially since half the glass was ice. The place is very clean & the severs were very efficient

Harvey's is a popular chain back east so I was told to give it a try from some folks from Toronto. It is located in a Home Depot store so the surroundings are a little rustic. You place your order & wait as everything is cooked to order & the wait is worth it. I had the Angus Burger & you can select all the toppings that you want plus a huge order of good fries & a drink for under $ 8.00.. Worth every penny and I will return

Located right next to Earle's it looks very plain from the outside but as soon as you enter you are in for a pleasant suprise. Very bright & spotless. Most of the patrons were Asian which is a good sign & the servers have perfect English and gave us great service. For lunch they have probably 20 specials all offering the main dish, rice, vegetables, tofu and dessert for $ 8.25. They are well known for their dumplings which we ordered for $ 6.95 and they were fabulous. They do not accept plastic so bring cash and enjoy
