This is my favorite lunch spot in the city! The rice bowls are tasty, filling, and healthy, with brown rice, fresh veggies, and flavourful sauces. I love them and crave them often. There are lots of vegan and vegetarian options available, a nice coffee/tea menu, and ice cream in the summertime. Great place for a quick, satisfying snack or lunch. Nice staff too and I don't have to pay too much.
After years of being encouraged by friends to try sushi I gave in (reluctantly) and we went to a place they said has the very best kind, is the best, authentic, fresh, the way it was supposed to be and so forth.
At first sight, this restaurant seemed like a good bet. It was completely booked and seemed clean. We were greeted hastily and shown to our table. I got nervous thinking I am about to eat raw fish but was assured that after 23 years it is time I at least tried it. The fish was OK, sometimes chewy, sometimes rubbery, sometimes easy to swallow. We had lots of sauce to kill off any taste as is appropriate. Unfortunately there wasn't much food and I didn't want much more of the same. The service was very slow and the only waitress was running around busy with something. I don't know what. This restaurant is not for you if you want to enjoy and relax. Everything seemed like a hassle for the waitress. I have to say I never expected great service from a Oriental restaurant but at least try to be prompt that is give good service. The shocking aspect though was the price. The food is priced as if this is a fine dining restaurant but given the service and lack of options and the decorations it is anything but. I will not be returning.
