Parking is a nightmare - you're better off under Pacific Centre for $4.00. But weekend brunch is worth it! Finally - somewhere that serves the Croque Madam! And the Uuvo Napoleano - dreamy! Super big breakfast/brunch in European style cafe.
Oh yeah - thier coffee's pretty good too.
I like that this restaurant is tucked away behind Broadway and Cambie. It is warmly decorated and it feels cozy. It's mainly asian with a touch of some fusion. Noodles are great, but I always get the vegetarian lettuce wraps and I'm never dissapointed.
I love Jolly's. I first discovered it when I got fed up with the line ups at the Naam. The decor is adorable, so is the staff - and check out the kitchen! The price is right, the portions are perfect and a pitcher of beer is cheap. The whole package is an awesome indian/cafe experience, sure it may not be authentic, but I appreciate the fresh flavours that he uses and I appreciate it that much more when I get the bill!
You could probably come here every weekend for many years and never get through the whole menu. You will be spoilt for choice and you will leave the table full. It's not low fat, but it is awesome comfort food. The decor is fabulous, dutch rec room chic. When I was in Amsterdam, I expected their Pannekoeks to be different, but the Dutch Wooden Shoe has managed to maintain it's Dutch authenticity.
I love this place! The food is fantastic - the flavours are wonderful and varied. But it's the overall experience that I like. I love that it is family run. Sure the service might be a little slow when it's busy - but it's worth the wait. Whenever I speak to someone who's never had a Dosa, I take them straight here and surprise them. Yah you might need a tums after - but you have to live a little!
I have been going to Andales for years and I've only ever ordered the Chimichangas, so I am not able to vouch for anything else on the menu (although the deep fried ice cream is worth ordering). I love Mexican and I love deep fried food, so Chimichangas are the obvious choice. I also like the vibe and the staff. Last time I was there, I could hear a happy toddler giggling for hours, when I finally turned around to see what was making this baby so happy, I saw the waiter on his hands and knees making faces and playing with her. It's a cozy, neighborhood restaurant.
