Great Steaks!
Submitted Sunday, November 2, 2008 - 3:09am [Dine in]

I recently dined here with my wife and some friends from out of town. We had been recommended this place from a friend as we usually dine weekly at the Keg and were told that this new place Pinkys blew them out of the water.

We were not disapointed. I had the New York, my wife had the Filet medallions I believe they were called, and our friends split a porterhouse. All the steaks were cooked to perfection and tasted phenominal. The sauce served on my wife's meal was fantastic. I had the "Pinky's Plush Potato" with my meal, which is their spin on tradition mashed potatoes, wrapped in a spring roll - excellent signature side. We all shared the desert sampler which included key lime pie, chocolate pecan pie, and tiramisu, all three were great, a little heavy on the whip cream though. Definately NOT costco material as previously suggested.

The dining room is very nicely decorated, mainly booth seating and a nice casual feel, the only criticism I had was that in the two hours we spent there (drinks became very enjoyable) the music became a little tiresome, a few repeats and some songs that didn't seem to fit the environment.

Overall a great experience, will definately return and recommend.

Jamesons Newport Restaurant215 Newport Drive, Port Moody
horrible management

I agree fully with the previous reviewer, this restaurant used to be really good, i think they must have lost most of their old staff. The talent that was once displayed here is completely gone. Ate here recently since they changed their menu and it was really really bad. Some of the meals we ate here over the past few years were excellent, top quality and always on the creative side. I can't see this incarnation of Jamesons lasting too long....too bad, will miss the old Jamesons
