A recent visit to Glowbal fell so short of our expectations - we had been here a few times before, we have decided to call it quits on the place.
Food was generally homestyle-bland bordering on boring with uninspired presentation to follow. A tasteless sablefish on a glutenous bed of rice (aka; pseudo risotto) had absolutely no taste, despite the waiter's attempt to say that sable fish is supposed to have a delicate flavour. Thank you! I've actually eaten sable fish before.
A steak dish was equally disappointing in that it was nothing more or less than a mediocre steak rather haphazardly plates without much creativity.
Overall, in my view, this restaurant has lost its appeal and unique character and will have to inject far more creativity if it hopes to stay in Yaletown for the long run. Desserts were good!

On a recent Dining Out Vancouver stint, we enjoyed what appeared to be a fairly predictable West Coast selection of dishes. While the dishes were good in their own right, they were unremarkable insofar as we could have eaten them at any sundry of restaurants in the Vancouver area. I was looking forward to some real Italian flavours and was left with no insight into what distinguishes La Terrazza. Disappointing

There has been a buzz for awhile surrounding this restaurant but recently some of the regulars have started to sour on the place. While the food continues to be worth the visit - although inconsistent at times - the service is, as others have noted in previous reviews, immature and, at times out of control. The notion that more is better translates into waiters running around appearing to be busy but often doing nothing more than clattering dishes and bumping into tables. There is no concerted effort to watch the guests and anticipate their needs. The only time they become focused is when it's time to pay the bill. Management needs to spend more time training the staff to slow down and focus on service. The frenetic slap-stick show of racing back and forth is exhausing to behold and detracts from the food and the true potential this restaurant has.
